What happened to common sense??

Is it just me? Or did the world intelligence quota take a huge dive over the past few years?
I would never claim to be super smart...but even a dumb arse like me can see that the worlds population is getting more and more stupid.....

There are safety signs everywhere even for the most obvious things.....I saw one the other day....next to a hole the size of a football field....the sign said.....danger hole ...don't fall in.....now come on....call me silly...but do you really have to be told not to fall into a huge deep hole????
Then there are safety signs that actually cause accidents....In a bar I saw a sign that said....mind your head above a low door... So as you looked up to read the sign....you fell down a hidden step.. and...on the other side of the door it said...mind the step...so ...you hit your head as you didn't duck to go under the low door frame because you were now looking at the step....

And if you think I'm crazy...just take a look around you.... everywhere you go there are signs warning of this or beware of that...signs written for stupid people....common sense used to be the thing that we all shared....if you saw a flame. You knew not to put your hand in it.....if you got into a car you knew you had to hold the steering wheel...after all.its common sense right?. Wrong......common sense no longer exists....why?? Well there are various theories out there and I have mine....firstly....most safety signs are there not to protect you...but to protect whichever company or establishment that put them their... If you are stupid enough to put your hand in the flames...you can't sue the company because they put a sign there warning you.....it's all done to cover their arses..........
The other theory I have is this..... people these days are deliberately kept dumb....schools couldn't teach them even if they wanted to...because they are all told how special they are and they don't need to compete and they're all winners....well that's all fine and dandy...until you put them in the real world and they need to compete for jobs etc....they are all so entitled now that they don't even try....they just claim the handouts and really don't contribute at all....unless you count the demise of the spoken or written language. In that texting now uses less real words and speech is being reduced to unintelligible grunts and slang that bears no resemblance to what it should be.....
Sadly the world is indeed on a downward spiral if stupidity....and the governments seem to like it that way.....it's much easier to control droning morons than an intelligent populous....it's also easier to strip rights away from people who are hard of thinking....than the well informed.......yes...it is a sad fact that...common sense.....just isn't common anymore......
