There is an ancient idea that we have lost, but can and should find again. It’s called simply the common good. It goes back many centuries, but the need for a new dialogue about what it means and what its practice would require of us has never seemed more critical. Our politics have become so polarized and increasingly volatile; and our political institutions have lost the public trust.......
A commitment to the common good could bring us together and solve the deepest problems this country and the world now face: How do we work together? How do we treat each other, especially the poorest and most vulnerable? How do we take care of not just ourselves but also one another?
The common good is also the best way to find common ground with other people—even with those who don’t agree with us or share our politics. Both liberals and conservatives could affirm the moral standard of the common good. And that commitment is especially attractive to young people, who are among the fastest-growing group in surveys who eschew specific religious affiliation.........

Common good, that which benefits society as a whole, in contrast to the private good of individuals and sections of society.
In the modern era, instead of a single common good, an emphasis has been placed upon the possibility of realizing a number of politically defined common goods.....

The "common good" is at the core of any situation where two or more people form a partnership, group or country. Many organizations exist for the purpose of providing common good: defense, mass-transit, public safety, public health and many other functions. Without common good, there would be no other reason to form an association.

......why the Common Good very concretely matters. All decisions are important, even in the world of finance which is so disincarnated in many respects that what is bought or sold seems to be wholly abstract, far from people.
But this is not the case : everything we do has consequences on people, however far or remote they may be. These people have faces, even though we may never see them. Without developing any vague sense of guilt, let us make sure that if we see one day their faces, we can tell ourselves that we have have worked for them, and not against them.

Basically, "common good" or what is often referred to as "common wealth" is much more of an idea than just "a kingdom", however, the idea of putting common good in front of individual good when necessary is what make all the difference.
Again, these above given definitions are based upon the world map as we know it, what it isn't based on is the world wide web and online communities.
The potentials are practically unlimited if we look at it from a perspective of the possibilities that the internet has given us!
