Community Series #10: Moments That Take Your Breath Away

in communityseries •  7 years ago  (edited)

My little sister is the one holding the baby. Pictures like this always make me stop and marvel at the precious life of a child. My mom used to say that babies are cute so that we are willing to care for them, lol. Any way you look at, life is priceless from beginning to end.

Here is a picture filled with memories. When I lived in Florida, my friends and I would often go to the beach for the morning sunrise. Every sunrise was different, and every sunrise was the same. The colors changed with every new day, but the wonder one felt at the beauty always returned.

This door is significant because it is the same spot where Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses in 1517. It still amazes me how the actions of one person can influence the rising and falling of nations. Our choices have consequences.

Honduras is not a first world country to begin with, but there are some spots that make you grateful for what you have. This street is known as 'Wall Street.' When a hurricane swept through Honduras in the late 90's it left a mess behind it. Some folks had nothing to rebuild with except scraps, and that is where this village came from. After 7-8 years they were still scraping to stay alive.

Very nice post, very nice moments you capture and specially the door ones..and your views about Martin Luther the king, I agree with your thought..and the two little cutie pies are awesome.

You're sweet. Thank you.

Oh thank you :)

I think the connecting theme to all of these vignettes is that life is precious - from a precious newborn to the glorious sunrises and all the way across the ocean to other lands where blood was drawn for truth. That's all we have is Life and Truth.

Nothing to add to that.

Life is all about these priceless moments :) thanks for sharing these.

Yes, it is.

waw how lovely! thanks for showing us.

Great photos. That is the magic of photography to preserve a slice of time that can never be duplicated exactly again.

Great point. Photography prolongs those attic cleaning days when you stumble upon old photos.

Life is living for these moments, memorys that wil fade by other moments.

Every one better than the next.

Yep :)

I think @countrygirl said it all...very touching post, lydon :)

That she did... Thank you, John. :)

Having just had the privilege of my daughter coming home to have her baby with us. It was marvelous to see my granddaughter grow for the first 2 months of her new life. She is a beauty and so happy.
It is true. We are very blessed to live in a stable country.
Those poor people are still suffering today. Shame on us all.
When Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses in 1517 he truly did change worlds. Literacy is the key to personal growth. Great post @lydon-sipe

Literacy is the key to personal growth.

What a truthful statement.

Watching your granddaughter grow up her first 2 months is a priceless memory. So glad you were able to enjoy that

It's been great every single day. My daughter lives in Dubai so it was tough when she left for the airport yesterday.
Good news, we are going to Dubai for Christmas. :)

That is good news! :)

Childhood memories are always so sweet <3
