Wales remain on top of Group B after a determined 0-0 draw away at group-favourites Belgium, continuing an unbeaten start to their Euro 2016 qualification campaign.
The visitors defended resolutely throughout, keeping the likes of Eden Hazard, Kevin de Bruyne and Marouane Fellaini at bay while talisman Gareth Bale operated as the lone striker.
And it was Bale’s trademark dipping free-kick which forced Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois into the first save of the match before Hazard’s mazy run, evading five Welsh defenders in the process, tested the hands of Wayne Hennessey during a lively start to the match.
Belgium defender Nicolas Lombaerts later rattled the post after connecting with Hazard’s cross, before Liverpool youngster Divock Origi prodded wide with the rebound.
After the break, Belgium altered to a 4-4-2 formation with Christian Benteke joining Origi up-front in a bid to add more potency in the final-third. But Wales looked dangerous on the counter-attack when Hal Robson-Kanu unleashed a low drive after combining with Bale.
The match endured a lengthy delay after a nasty clash of heads between George Williams and Dries Mertens, which left the Belgian winger unconscious for several minutes.
And with six additional minutes signalled by the fourth official, Wales survived a late scare deep in stoppage-time when James Chester cleared Adnan Januzaj’s fizzing cross.
The result means Wales sit three points clear of fourth-placed Belgium, although Chris Coleman’s side have played one game more.
