With great pleassure I anounce the death of my HP Pavilion.

My Laptop finally decided to give up. It was a HP pavilion, one of the worst laptops I have ever had. Two years ago it looked like state of the art. A slick shiny finnish and a touch screen!

In the beginning it was still fast (so I thought) but over time it got slower and slower.
The touch screen seemed nice but I noticed that I would hardly use it. It was impractical.
Another thing I found out was, whenever I was on other people’s laptop I started swipping the screen frantically, only to found out after 10 minutes it wasn’t a touch screen.

About a year ago it started to get hot and noisy, it sounded like a boeing 747 was firing it’s engines on the runway ready to take off. And the casing was getting so hot sometimes it would spontaneously shut itself off.

I read a lot of people had the same problem and HP never came with a solution. So never again!

Yesterday It gave up, reporting the fan wasn’t working so no cooling at all.

Now I bought a Lenovo. It is fast cold and more important dead silent, to the point I am wondering whether there is even a fan in there?

Oh I do occasionally swipe the screen, old habits won’t die.
Damn you HP!

Sorry for that, it does happen like that sometimes

The same way my HP packed up, but it serves me before it did. The issue was also the fan. It was making a heck of noise. Then it wouldn't just roll anymore. Painful thing is I always placed it on a cool surface

Congrats on your new laptop, mate! I bet it even still smells like a new device... oh, that beautiful, slightly intoxicating smell of new plastic and electrical wires :-D

Congratulations @funkie68!
