Tales of a minor software pirate

in computers •  6 years ago

The Video Genie brings back memories as my first computer was the TRS-80 Model 1. I used to take it to my local computer club (I miss those) and despite the graphics being inferior to the Spectrum and C64's, it always drew a crowd of admirers.

I also owned the BBC and loved it, such a powerful system for the time. Still own an A1200 that I bought about a year ago.

Thanks for the mention and sharing the photos.

It's so tempting to get some of those old computers. I would have loved an Archimedes at the time and my A1200 was cool. It had a 68040 in it at the end. I just don't have space for them.

Mine has a 68020 running at 28Mhz inside it. I'm really not sure what benefit it brings over emulating it to be honest, and it is taking up room on my desk. I think owning it just makes me feel ever so slightly more nostalgic.

I think I'd actually prefer a C64 with a 1541 and a collection of real disks to load. The Amiga was never that special for me.
