Steemit Concert Challenge

After stumbling blindly upon this challenge.. the Steemit Concert Challenge... one couldn't but be a little inclined to partake! So here it goes...

First Concert: Big Day Out 2002 The Prodigy
Last Concert: Red Hot Chilli Peppers The Getaway 2019
Best Concert: Ben Harper and the Relentless 7 Blues Fest 2009
Loudest Concert: Franz Ferdinand Big Day Out 2006
Seen the most: Blind Dog Donny (though is there a clear delineation between a gig and a concert?)
Most Fun Concert: Horrorshow King Amongst Many 2013
Next Concert: who knows!
Wish I had seen: David Bowie!

And just for interests sake brief mention of these gigs will here be made.

The Prodigy. We had our parents sign a release form allowing us into the event as we were underaged. We rushed our way into the mosh in preparation for the beginning of The Prodigy. They opened the set with their most popular song- Breathe- and ultimately as the crowd around us swelled and rose, wrythed and fell to the music 'breathe' was something we could not. As my slightly slighter friend was being dragged down to be trompled a gentile stranger reefed us both up to a crowd surf and we were surfed forward and out of the mosh where we rejoined the crowd to dance ourselves crazy. Great gig!

Red Hot Chilli Peppers. My sister purchased tickets to the concert for my 33rd birthday on observing my clear obsession with their latest album- The Getaway. On the night they actually played negligable songs from the album though I am a fan of most of their songs. It was a fantastic night, even the horrendous traffic in the car park seemed somehow exhilerating! Go Robot is a particularly good song to dance to and by that stage we'd retreated to the back of the crowd to enjoy more space amid a plume of kookie smoke (note: not our own!).

Ben Harper and the Relentless 7. Best dance ever!

Franz Ferdinand. Unfortunately I was wearing overalls that were not long enough for my torso.

Blind Dog Donny. The resident band at the local pub. Always a great dance.

Horrorshow. A grimie packed basement style venue The Corner Hotel is apparently renowned for intimate concerts. It was like a sweat box and a friendly chatty, dancy crowd not shy to dance with each other indiscriminately. Fun!

I think any sort of gig can count. Size does not always relate to enjoyment and there are loads of great bands that most people will not have heard of. I was lucky to see Bowie a few times and my other half is a massive fan who has seen him more than I have. We are going to see some of his band play the old songs soon.

Really!.. In that case I certainly would have included The Black Seeds "Into the Dojo" tour in there somewhere. Reggae gigs tend to have pretty interesting vibes and that one was no exception! Bloody hell- I'm super jealous of your Bowie concerts! There are a few open air parties on around this neck of the woods celebrating Bowie tonight.. or so I've heard.. (it being the anniversary of his parting as I'm sure you know). What, may I ask, are his old band members calling themselves collectively!?
:)

It's called A Bowie Celebration. The first one at Brixton had lots of guest singers. It's a good singalong gig. We also saw Tony Visconti's band Holy Holy last year.

Excellent! I'll have to listen to their music! Thanks :)
