Installing and configuring Windows Server backup.
Press control + Alt + delete on the W2K8zz computer assigned to you and log on as the default administrator of the local computer. your username will be administrator the password will be WLYcert#1or the password that your instructor or lab proctor assigns to you.
If the server manager screen is not already open, click the start button and then click server manager .expand the server manager window to full screen if necessary.
In the left hand pane, select the features node. in the right hand pane click add features .
The select features screen appears . Expand Windows Server back up features. Place a check mark next to Windows Server backup click next and then click install.
Click close when the installation complete.
Click start >Administrative tools > window server backup. The window server backup window appears. Choose backup once from the action menu. The backup options Wizard appears . Click next to begin performing a one time backup.
If this is the first backup you have performed , you may see a warning screen describing access to earlier backups . If you receive this warning ,click yes to continue.
The select backup configuration screen appears . Select the custom radio button .and click next.
The select backup items window appears . Be sure that the second hard drive on the W2K8zz computer has been deselected , and then click next.
The specify destination type window appears . Select the local drives radio button, and then click next.
The select backup destination window appears . In the backup destination drop down box , confirm that the second hard drive on the W2K8zz computer is selected and then click next.
The specify advanced option window appears . Read the description ot the VSS copy backup option .and click next.
The confirmation screen appears . Click backup to begin the backup process.
Click close when the backup completes. Close the windows server backup console.
