First Spring Weekend Cold No Storms On Horizon Yet

We are starting off our first spring weekend with chilly temperatures this morning and that chill will actually be with us into Tuesday. Low pressure this morning is dropping southeastward through the Ohio & Tennessee Valley and weakening as it heads to the South Carolina coast. this will have no impact on our weather directly though it will eventually become a wrapped up gale center northeast of Bermuda in a couple of days. We are going to see a pair of upper air disturbances move through this weekend producing some clouds and the chance for a rain or snow shower late this afternoon and evening and again Sunday morning. Temperatures today and Sunday will reach the 40s for highs and lows tonight will be in the upper 20s to middle 30s.

Right now our local radars are quiet though we can see the beginnings of the Midwest system pushing some precipitation into Western Virginia and Western North Carolina. None of this will be an issue here. Even the high clouds from this system will be rather far to the south.

Next week begins cold but dry on Monday with sunshine and highs again in the 40s. Tuesday warmer air starts to push northeastward as high pressure over Quebec begins to move southward. Some clouds may develop in response to milder air aloft coming in but there will be an onshore flow keeping things a bit cool.

By Wednesday we should be in the 50s with some sunshine. Same hold for Thursday though clouds and some showers come into the picture late Thursday or perhaps they hold off until Thursday night and Friday. Right now Easter weekend looks dry and a little chilly but nothing exceptionally cold.
