June Gloom Starts Thursday More Gloom Issues This Weekend
One thing about this trough along the East Coast is that it absolutely does not want to get out of the way. We are still being influenced by a complex upper air storm in Eastern Canada. Actually its three upper air lows which are basically rotating around. Every couple of days one of them pulls out only to have another one rotate and drop southward back into position in Southeastern Canada/ Northern New England. Cold unstable are aloft continues so the outcome is clouds. We have plenty of them this morning. Some should have gotten out of the way last night but the atmosphere had other ideas. We are starting off cool with temperatures in the 50s this morning. The hope is some breaks of sunshine develop today and we take highs at least into the 70s which isn't too hard to pull off. At least there are no showers around this morning on the radar and no showers are forecast today.

We are going to continue with the idea of a warm Friday with a mix of sun and clouds with highs reaching into the 80s. Then we move on to the weekend issue. This is still far from settled. There will be some showers and thunderstorms running around though models all seem to have different ideas regarding timing and placement. It would seem that the main threat will be as you head south of NYC and I am still going to hold with the idea that later Saturday into Saturday night early Sunday morning is the time frame. There are some models which suggest no rain for Saturday at all and that the rain comes Sunday! The NAM model is on this particular road but I think that is a bit far-fetched at this point. So for now I am leaving things the same..chance for showers and thunderstorms from NYC & Long Island south for later Saturday and Saturday night...little if any going north into Northern New Jersey & the Hudson Valley..heaviest south in Southern New Jersey & Southeastern Pennsylvania. Temperatures will be in the 70s to near 80.

Improving weather conditions should follow on Sunday as high pressure builds down from the north with sunshine and highs just in the low to mid 70s with 60s along the coast. However Central & South Jersey southward into Southeastern Pennsylvania will be in clouds with showers and thunderstorms running around again. The weather next week looks a bit better from what we have seen lately with some sunshine for the first few days of next week at least with highs in the 70s to near 80 each day.
