Rain Moving Offshore Weather Conditions Improve
Week Ahead Outlook
We are watching low pressure off the New Jersey coast this morning moving slowly to the northeast taking the overnight rain out with it. The Rain has ended across Eastern Pennsylvania and most of New Jersey and is about to end in areas east of NYC over the next couple of hours. To the west behind the low is dry cool air that will come in. Temperatures this morning are rather chilly with most readings in the upper 40s and lower 50s. We should see leftover clouds give way to some sunshine as the day wears on with highs reaching the upper 60s and lower 70s. Dry air extends to the Great Lakes so weak high pressure tonight should mean clear skies with most lows in the 50s.
EASTERN SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
Regional and local radars show the rain moving right along to the east. Radars are clear across much of Pennsylvania west and south. These areas were hit rather hard with rain over the weekend so the drying out process is especially welcomed.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Tuesday brings another cold front moving southeast from Southeastern Canada so we will see sunshine mixed with some clouds and the risk for a few passing showers or a thunderstorm late in the day. Temperatures will be in the 70s. The air over us tomorrow will be somewhat dry so we are not expecting widespread shower activity. Wednesday & Thursday look good with lots of sun and temperatures in the 70s before the next cold front arrives on Friday. There could be some showers with that front as it goes by.Temperatures on Friday will reach into the 80s and will likely be the one warm humid day for this week.
This front also looks to be another one that stalls out for next weekend so the chance for showers looms for Saturday which is also the day when Justify runs for the triple crown in the Belmont Stakes. If it does rain it would make it the first time in the history of the triple crown where all three races were run on an off track.
