Saint Patrick's Day Sunshine & Clouds, Nice Weekend Ahead of Foureaster
We continue to be under the influence of a storm in the Canadian Maritime Provinces which won't be moving much over the next few days. This keeps us in a cold dry flow from the northwest with gusty winds and sunshine and clouds for the rest of this Friday. Temperatures today won't get much above the upper 30s and lower 40s. The last few days have seen upper air disturbances moving through with afternoon and evening snow and rain showers. There are a few showing up on the radars today and a snow shower or two can't be ruled out though I suspect the activity today will be minimal. The next storm system is evident by the large swirl on the satellite picture below in the Plains. This storm will be moving southeastward and weakening as it reaches the Middle Atlantic Coast. Some rain and even a little snow will occur with that to our south but no precipitation is in the forecast for this weekend.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Tonight skies should clear and it will be another cold night with lows in the mid 20s to lower 30s. Saturday Saint Patrick's Day we will see sunshine and some high clouds with more clouds in Southern New Jersey & Southeastern Pennsylvania with rain just south of that. Temperatures should climb into the 40s. Then on Sunday as high pressure begins to build down from the north we are looking for sunshine and highs in the low to mid 40s.
Foureaster Looms For Tuesday Into Thursday
Next week it appears we will have noreaster number 4 or as I am calling it a foureaster. Monday looks fine with sunshine most of the day and highs in the low to mid 40s. Then low pressure moves out of the Plains and into the lower Ohio Valley Tuesday.
NAM MODEL MONDAY 8PM MARCH 19, 2018
EUROPEAN MODEL TUESDAY NIGHT MARCH 20, 2018
The primary low moves across the Tennessee Valley. The secondary low develops along the Carolina coast. Cold air sits just to our north. All the puzzle pieces are there but it is still way to early to call what this all means in terms of rain snow wind and coastal flooding. It may be awhile before we have all that figured out. The main threat time will be from later Tuesday lasting into possibly early Thursday depending on how the upper air jet stream decides to play out.
