Sunshine Starts Off Last Week of March

We are beginning the last days of this record setting month with nice quiet sunshine and chilly temperatures. At least we will see as cloud free a day as we have seen in awhile as upper air disturbances from the northeast diminish and shift offshore. We should see temperatures rebound through the low to mid 40s today though pushing through upper 40s to near 50 will be a bit tough. The average high this time of year is in the low 50s so below average temperatures continue to dominate as they have all month long.

There isn't too much happening on the satellite and radars this morning. Other than some offshore clouds skies are clear over much of our area. There is a developing gale center offshore that will park itself northeast of Bermuda for a few days. This should help to warm things up here later this week.

Tuesday we will see sunshine give way to arriving clouds as a warm front begins to approach from the west. Highs will be in the 40s. A couple of scattered showers are possible Tuesday night and on Wednesday, otherwise it is clouds with highs reaching into the 50s away from the ocean. Thursday should be the one mild day in the work week with highs in the 50s just about everywhere but there will be the increasing chance for showers later in the day and overnight into Friday morning before weather conditions improve later in the day.

Easter Weekend will start dry but Easter Sunday will bring another cold front through with the chance for showers later in the day and at night. Next week looks cold for the first week of April with temperatures below average and a couple of shots of Canadian air to keep things rather chilly around here. For those of you looking for one last gasp of snow, with the upper air pattern that lies ahead I would not rule it out.
