Week Begins Sunny Showers Tuesday Dry Second Half
We get the new work week underway with lots of sunshine this morning. The satellite shows us in a rare position of clear skies and we should see a fair amount of sunshine for most of the day though some high clouds will be coming in later on. We have a dry air mass overhead that will keep temperatures in the 70s today. As fast as the dry air mass moved in last night will be as fast as it moves out tonight with clouds increasing from the west. The next frontal system (warm front cold front) combination works its way eastward.
EASTERN SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
At least from the standpoint of the radars this morning, we have all quiet on that front. Tuesday we are back to clouds with some showers and the chance for some thunderstorms. There will be a bit of an onshore flow developing and temperatures will probably struggle in the 60s to near 70. It won't rain all day as there will be dry periods.
SUNDAY GFS FORECAST MAY 27, 2018
High pressure starts to build in from the northwest later Wednesday to carry us through the rest of the week. This should mean improving weather conditions on Wednesday with decreasing clouds and increasing amounts of sun. Thursday and Friday look like nice days with sunshine and temperatures into the 80s each day. As far as the holiday weekend goes I think we squeeze out a decent warm Saturday before a cold front drops down from the north and we deal with some showers or a thunderstorm Saturday night. Sunday & Monday look problematic with a front to our south, a developing onshore flow and tropical moisture coming northward. I think this creates an increasing chance for showers or even a period of rain later Sunday into Monday Memorial Day. We are not 100 percent sold yet on a continuous rain but it does appear that the second half of the holiday weekend will have issues.
