The evolution of web design

That's right, the term web design is in my opinion obsolete. The web is moving too fast, and the term "web design" has become very generic and does not express the current reality of the field.

The SAR defines it this way:

A set of information from a website that is displayed on a screen and may include text, audiovisual content and links to other pages.
It certainly goes beyond that, it's about creating interfaces of interaction between that information with the best possible user experience. Easy, intuitive, pleasing to the eye, effective.

Just as it is an infrastructure of a skyscraper, it must meet certain standards and objectives, be efficient, sustainable, safe, etc. And on the outside it carries a design, architectural style, shapes and figures.

Perhaps before, houses were built to meet needs that are now almost extinct in most developed countries. I am sure that in some countries with many basic needs, it will suffice for the houses to have a single bathroom. And surely in the past, that would have sufficed for everyone too.

Now we are trying to satisfy needs that are more than necessities, I would say that they are tastes and luxuries, because most of them are not indispensable, but at the end of the day, they are necessary nowadays.

Nowadays, there are interior decorators who take time to study the sensation transmitted by the spaces in the house. The effects they will have on children's learning and intellectual development in a kindergarten, depending on the colour of the walls, the sunlight available, etc. We are becoming more exquisite, more detailed, more precise.

And that's all right. Everything is done for some particular reason that achieves a specific objective.

There are also those feelings on a website. The experience that a user will have when visiting the website is designed, and what interface it will have to meet the specific objective. A user experience design implicitly leads an emotional induction to an intangible virtual dimension, but close, the interface becomes native in the language of communication between information, product or service with the visitor, so that it can flow through channels designed to reach the target.

Therefore, to say that we are going to design a web page, is not only a set of information accompanied by images, links and audiovisual content, it is much more than that.

The important thing is to do what is right and necessary, with elegance and minimalism.
