Dominick Cruz isn't necessarily well known outside of the die-hard UFC scene. He is, however, one of the better bantamweight fighters in the sport. Prior to a loss against Cody Garbrandt in the Rousey-Nunes undercard back in December of 2016, Cruz boasted a 22-1 record.
Apparently The Dominator would like to continue his career in the Octagon against none other than Floyd Mayweather.
Appearing on the TMZ Sports TV Show on FS1 Monday night, Cruz threw the gauntlet down on Floyd, indicating that he'd defeat the boxing champion with one arm in a UFC match if Mayweather did indeed decide to take to the Octagon this coming December after less than a year of training.
"He's only got 2 tools -- he doesn't have the other 8," Cruz said before noting that he would defeat Mayweather with just one arm.
That's pretty cute stuff right there. Fortunately for Cruz and his ego, it will be Conor McGregor going up against Mayweather in a yet to be determined rematch of last August's boxing match.
It's easy to talk when there's no chance of a fight actually happening. It's also a way for Cruz to put himself out there after having not fought in well over a year.
Cruz doesn't find himself anywhere in the SNIPdaily UFC Top 100 for the year. McGregor himself comes in No. 1 while Mayweather tops the charts in our boxing version of the top 100 for the year.
No one is paying Cruz to fight, let alone talk. Leave this up to the two men most people care about.
