Jewish financiers control the weather!?

A D.C. lawmaker responded to a brief snowfall Friday by publishing a video in which he espoused a conspiracy theory that Jewish financiers control the weather.

I returned home to find near-80 degree weather in late October! It must be the Rothschilds manipulating the DC weather again, as this DC council member suggested last year.

On a slightly more serious note: if the Rothschilds (or any capable businesspeople) really could control the weather, they wouldn't waste their time using their power to annoy the DC Council. They would just sell weather control services to governments and corporations, and rapidly become trillionaires.

This kind of possibility is routinely overlooked by comic-book writers who imagine super-villains with incredible powers that they use only to battle the hero, when they could just make a fortune legally, without risking the wrath of, e.g., Superman. Anti-Semitic conspiracy theorists make the same error. If the Jews were as powerful and greedy as the latter claim, they could just use their power to make money hand over fist, rather than engage in elaborate (and usually far less lucrative) conspiracies.
