My husband built a special rack for the truck to transport the 51” doors home. He had 3 of them, and a screen door. He had hoped to pick up 2 doors for the cold room at the same time, but Home Depot was their usual unhelpful self and he could not. Lowe’s didn’t have the doors.
These are all the windows I have to stain. I’ll be busy for weeks…
When he got back home he built this wall.
Then he left to go to a different Home Depot to get the 2 doors for the cold room. He plans to install them tomorrow morning, before the current ones totally fall off their hinges.
When we built the cold room, we put on 2 hollow core doors. They lasted about 7 years. Last year we bought new hollow core doors. They lasted about 2 weeks. My husband shored them up, but they are really coming to pieces now. So we will bite the bullet and shell out for solid core wood doors.
Tomorrow after I finish packaging and freezing the stock, I’ll be back staining windows, or maybe painting doors….
