Once he’d ground the fish and cleaned up after, he went out and started trying to move snow with the tractor. But it didn’t have much traction, as he’d not put chains on, and after this little bit, he gave up. Looks like he might borrow the snowblower after all.

He then started to put the outside insulation up. This needs to be in place before windows can go in. It started to snow just after lunch and we had an appointment to go to, so this is all he got done.

Saturday after a dump run I think he’s hoping to get more insulation up, but it is to be very cold.

XPS on wood? Is that not the dreaded EIFS system that failed millions of homes in the USA?

I'm unfamiliar with those terms. Not sure because of that exactly what you are referring to....

XPS is the type of insulation in the photo. Google EIFS rot. We saw a documentary a few years back showing how much the American system of building rots from inside. Reason being the type of insulation is not breathing and condensed water on the wood panels. The movie talked about the system being put out of use because of the dangerous Black Mold spores...

Oh! Well, we put the insulation over the plywood and inside there will be 6" of insulation. We built both older houses this way, and have never had a problem, going on 36 years now...
