I have all of my permits, ready to break ground but...

in construction •  7 years ago

This morning I got the rest of my permits and the water tap and tile ordered and paid for. We are ready to break ground but for one thing. We are still waiting on the quotes from the foundation people I am really getting frustrated but there isn't much I can do if I protest too much I might get at square one again and I know they are really busy this time of year. But everything else is done and ready to go but for that little thing which isn't so little as that is what our house will sit on, and is the most important thing to get done before the house is done. It has my stress levels way up. Though I know the job is only a three day job max and that is if there is a delay getting the inspector to the site to inspect the footer so they can install the block.

Who has that time machine that can take me to the moment when my land goes from this

Like seriously who has that time machine because I feel like I need it so I don't lose it on someone. I mean it would be one thing if we were just getting on this, but I been on this for over a month, come on with the numbers already foundation people. I need to hire one of you like yesterday. So if by chance you are one of the contractors bidding on my foundation job reading this, stop and go work on my bid. LOL

I highly suggest if you are ever building a house, not to be on a tight deadline, cause it is stressful to build anyways and when you are on a tight deadline it makes the stress levels go way up. This foundation is holding up nearly everything else. Time is money and all I can see is dollar signs this job is costing and the money I am losing out on not being able to book shoots like I normally do. So I am hoping that karma is looking kindly at me, and those numbers come back by tomorrow. I am ready to see work get done on my property.

Have patience, it will be worth it in the end! I am now following you so I can see how it all turns out!

All the best to you in building your home. I researched the process a while back myself, but in SoCal where I live, all the "easy building" land seems to be taken. But it's exciting to see others living the dream!

It took years to find the land we wanted or had in mind, and it isn't 100% perfect but by waiting and not settling we found the perfect land. Modular is cheaper than stick built. And if you start looking into that again, check out Home Nation, they have some of the best prices in the nation. Our home from the same builder is sold through another name at a lot lower cost.

Thanks for the tip!

Patience is not something that I'm good at, so I can understand where you're at.

I am good at it till I am on a deadline. I am now being told those numbers will be in on Thursday but 100% they will be in by then. We will see.
