Idiots are big business!

Many of us lament the fact that the younger generations are so out of touch with nature and real life they have no idea where their food comes from. Kids raised in big cities, thinking bananas grow at the supermarket and milk comes from cartons - they may seem sad to us, but at least they’re good for the economy, because you can sell them anything.
I was out doing some shopping when out of the corner of my eye I saw a strange label. I don’t usually look at the soft drinks aisle as we rarely buy any, but somehow I noticed a bottle of ‘caffeine water’. What the hell is that? As far as I know, caffeine water was invented centuries ago and it’s called coffee. Sitting next to it was the lemon-flavored water, some of you might know as lemonade. Well, it’s not exactly the same thing as the lemonade you know had actual lemons in it! Then I found something quite miraculous - ‘Mint water’, not to be confused with the stupid mint tea your ancient grandma used to swear by for any stomach ailment.

I can understand people buying Pepsi, it’s not healthy, I know, but it tastes good and it’s not there to replace anything - like the caffeine water. Why would you want to pay $1 for small bottle of crap water when you can buy a coffee for 25 cents at the machine by the store entrance? Who does that? Well, I got the answer to that pretty quick as a young corporate worker quickly grabbed a bottle, to go with his store-prepared salad, that stands for lunch…
No matter what fancy jobs these hipsters, millennials - call them whatever you want - but they’re totally illiterate when it comes to healthy living. They’re incapable to read a label and they believe whatever a commercial tells them. I’ve seen this happening with my 10 years old son, who one day pestered me into buying a bottle of some vitamin water he’d seen in an ad. I hated myself for buying that, but at least it was a good lesson - the taste was awful and he couldn’t drink it. ‘Next time, don’t believe what you see in an ad!’
Another reason there’s a market for all this crap is that in a consumer society you’re totally lame if you don’t buy your food and drink from the store. There aren’t many fast-food restaurants in my area, so office workers rely on ready-meals bought at the super-market. Try bringing a lunch box with real food in it and you’re a loser! The cool crowd buys sandwiches that cost three-times what they’re worth. The funny thing is I met people who honestly believe fast-food is cheaper than a decent homemade meal. But then millennials don’t know how to cook and many of them couldn’t be bothered with it. Cool people won’t waste any time over the stove like their mothers used to when they can take careful sips of mint water while checking their social media, where they see new ads for more crap to buy!

25 cents for a cup of coffee? Which cloud of heaven do you live on? Here a small cup costs $2 at least!

That's the cheapest kind, from a machine... In a bar or something the cheapest is more than $1, generally 2!

I'm super annoyed that they cut off Diet Water Zero Lite at the end.
It's only got 60 calories.

😃😃 I had to search this up (always trying to learn). Turns out I need to see Idiocracy!

It's sad but it's our reality, there is a market for anything absurd that companies can invent and meantime nature suffers with all the shit we throw at it.

Wonder how the product lines 20 years from now will be. Things just keep getting weirder
