For two of yesterday's modifications (awarded to Austal USA and Lockheed Martin) the Defense Department does not list a dollar amount. Is this an oversight or a lack of transparency? In reporting these figures, I haven't encountered this situation before.
The big winner yesterday was Data Link Solutions with a $386 million modification of a previously awarded contract. According to the DoD: “This contract combines purchases for the Navy, Air Force and MIDS Program Office, as well as to the governments of Austria, Chile, Finland, Israel, Jordan, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. This contract also includes purchases to NATO and all NATO nations under the Foreign Military Sales program.” The phrase “purchases for...” or even “purchases from...” are easily understood, but “purchases to...”? That's a new one, and seems likely an attempt at linguistic obfuscation.

I suspect the DoD's purchases "to" phrasing has to do with sloppy copy-pasting from another document, perhaps some Data Link Solutions PR bragging about where their product was going to.
However I checked Data Link Solutions public website and I couldn't find it there. In fact they haven't updated their "news" section since 2017 (http://www.datalinksolutions.net/news/index.php). Also they can't even provide https connections. Perhaps they need to hire a web consultant for several dozen million. :)
