Howdy! I wanted to ask how you approach deciding what content to post.
The reason I ask is because after joining and reading a lot of various posts, it made me start wondering how effective blogging about a wide variety of topics is. For example, I'm loving the homesteading and sustainability community on here. However, my other interests for future content posts are in their own niches, seemingly with no intersection. How would followers who are interested in the permaculture posts feel if I also posted dj mixes of hardcore ragga jungle, for example? How interested in reading about rare neuroendocrine diseases with citations from highly tenchical medical journals would they be? Would combining those far apart niche posts be a deterrent? I want to post on all of it. Learning from each of these niches has expanded my horizons. They've grown me tremendously as a person. They are definitely niches, though. Independent of each other with what seems like small likelihood of intermingling. Not to say that someone who likes reading 10 letter words that seem like almost unintelligible medical jargon wouldn't also be interested in sustainability, or visa versa, but how do you approach this sort of conundrum when your interests are so specific and broad, yet not “mainstream” by themselves?
I've also realized I probably botched my introduce me post. Should have lurked a while before posting because I didn't exactly explain much about myself, my intentions, goals. Instead I jumped right in to what now feels like pigeonholing myself into one category. A category I want to pursue but now realize is less of an interest to me now that I've found a great community in the homesteading niche here. A community I wasn't even expecting to find because I haven't found it elsewhere online to any satisfaction. Is it too late to reintroduce myself?
But, back to the main point of this post. How do you approach posting content with such a wide variety of unrelated focuses?
Looking forward to your feedback!
I just post what I post and let the audience decide with their vote. If people have found me on here from YouTube where I've been for the longest, then they know I'm pretty eclectic :-)

I think variety is good. My most successful post in terms of financial reward here was two photography posts. But other posts are more rewarding in terms of the engagement and the discussion they garner.

Honestly, I write about what I am passionate about. My garden, my herbs, my DIYs and projects, new skills I learned and homesteading.
Every once in a while I toss in a "what I learned about steemit" post.
I learned long ago, write about your passions... write about what you know and it has never failed me yet.
