Background

Project Affable is an Engagement League to empower 2nd and 3rd layer engagement in Steem Blockchain. It aims to enrich the participants with a dedicated reward pool. It aligns with major challenges and campaigns initiated by Steemit Team and encourages the participants to take the engagement deep, to produce quality comments, and ultimately bring value to this chain.

The project "Affable" aims to reward value engagement in Steem Blockchain. It is about productive engagement, something meaningful for either side in terms of disseminating critical information, individual situations, needs, reactions, sharing, learning, etc.

The maiden campaign of Project Affable started on 1st September and on 16th September 2020, it went global. Since then it is an engagement league for one and all in Steem Blockchain.

However, in the month of February 2021, we realized that many participants were left out despite using #affable tag because they did not leave a comment in the announcement post. They might have used the tag because they saw someone else is using it, similar to whisper protocol in p2p distributed network.

Further, we anticipated that as the number of participants grows down the line, it might become cumbersome to manually calculate the score, hence an automated, scalable Affable tool was the need of the time. We reached out to @neerajkr03 and @starlord28 with the aforementioned problem interface and finally, they have found out a solution to make it fully automated and scalable.

Before announcing the Engagement League for May 2021, the project Affable would like to make two major updates--

(1) There will be an Airdrop in the month of June'2021 to all the users who have participated in Project Affable so far. Their cumulative Affable score(From September 2020 to May 2021) will be taken into account to airdrop Affable reward. What will be the threshold score, criteria, and the amount of Airdrop, etc are a surprise for you and certainly going to be a pleasant surprise at least for the consistent users.

(2) The result of the Engagement league (Dec 2021 & Jan 2021) will be announced before 29th May 2021. I deeply apologize for the delay. I had to deal with a variety of challenges(including health issues) in the recent past. But I have made sufficient arrangements to distribute the reward before 29th May 2021.

Project Affable is committed to organizing the Engagement League every month. There won't be any break from here on. Herewith we present the details of the Engagement League for the month of May' 2021. Please pay attention to the relevant tags (of this month to engage with) and the rules.

Which tags and How to use the tags at the bottom of your comment?

In project Affable, you don't need to do any additional task, you just need to include the #affable tag at the bottom of your comment to score Affable Ratio.

Steemcurator01, Steemcurator02 upvote a few comments on a daily basis purely at their discretion, so we will give a weightage to their vote(if any) as well while calculating the Affable Ratio.

You can use #affable #yourcountryname at the bottom of your comment to score Affable Ratio. For example- #affable #india (for Indian Participants), similarly #affable #nigeria (for Nigerian Participants)

You are free to use any other tags if you find any other suitable contest which can earn you more rewards.

How to win?

You need to engage as much as you can and try to take the engagement deep so that you will produce more 2nd layer, 3rd layer comments that will help you to score higher Affable Ratio.

Just scoring "Affable Ratio" may not win you the contest, as the Affable Ratio will be probed with Active Participant Criteria & No Spam/Plagiarism criteria which are the minimum threshold in project Affable.

Affable Ratio

Affable Ratio will keep calibrating with the changing dynamics of the different parameters that are being used, however, the objective will remain the same.

At the moment both teemcurator01 and Steemcurator02 are voting a few comments on a daily basis. Project Affable aims to optimize your engagement effort with #affable tag and more weightage on your 2nd, 3rd layer engagement, so that alongside Steemcurator01, Steemcurator02 upvotes you could potentially win a piece of pie from the Affable Reward pool.

Although project Affable empowers 2nd, 3rd layer engagement, the "affable ratio" is not just about 2nd, 3rd layer engagement. The affable ratio is a weighted average ratio of your comprehensive productive engagement and reflections, taking into account primary engagement(1st layer), 2nd layer engagement(3rd layer, or extended layer, if any), nos of votes from Steemcurator01 & nos of votes from Steemcurator02.

Example

Suppose from 1st May to 31st May' 2021, @neerajkr03 makes 100 1st layer comments, 60 2nd layer comments, 10 3rd layer comments, 5 4th layer comments. He also receives 5 votes(in comments) from Steemcurator01, 15 votes(in comments) from @steemcurator02.

2C= 60+10+5= 75
SC01=5
SC02=15

Affable Ratio= [1C+2(2C)+SC01+0.4(SC02)]/4.4

=> Affable Ratio for @neerajkr03 = [100+(2 * 75)+5+(0.4 * 15)]/4.4= 59.31

Want to know your Affable Ratio?

The new automated, scalable Affable Tool does not have any UI as of now, but soon it will be deployed by our experts @neerajkr03 @starlord28, they are working in tandem to make it available in the nearest possible future(as early as 31st May 2021).

Do's & Dont's

• Try to engage meaningfully, to the merit of the content. You can always go with the "why, how, when" kind of comment in a friendly way, in a way that you seek to know more about it.

• Try to avoid redundant words in the comment. Also, your comments should feel engaging.

• Please avoid making repetitive comments or slightly modifying the same comment & pasting it everywhere. That will be considered as an act of spam and will render you disqualified in this contest.

• Please read the post first before making any comments. Just going by the picture/images and asking/commenting does not make sense to strengthen this engagement league.

• Don't try to engage with multiple/alternate accounts. That will be considered as an egregious violation of the Rules and will render you disqualified and/or a permanent ban from this contest.

Total Prize Pool (325+60 STEEM)

• The top 11 winners will share a total pool of 325 STEEM.
• Project Affable will allocate another 60 STEEM for continuous development of the Automated Affable tool to automate & fine-tune the Affable Ratio, update it each month with relevant tags.

Active Participant Criteria

No comment for 7 consecutive days will render the participant as an inactive participant in the project Affable and his/her affable ratio won't be taken into consideration for determining the winner(s) of this contest.

Spam/Plagiarism

Any act of spam/plagiarism will have you disqualified in this contest. There will be zero tolerance against Spam/Plagiarism, Vote farming with multiple accounts. Any such act will render a permanent ban in Project Affable.

Rules

• The Engagement League for May' 2021 will run from 1st May to 31st May 2021, Time- 11:59 PM UTC(or simply refer to Steem Blockchain Time).

• All the comments in #thediarygame #betterlife #mytown10pics #cryptoacademy will be taken into consideration for calculating the "Affable Ratio" and based on the Affable Ratio, the top 11 ranks at the end of the campaign will be rewarded.

• You can also score Affable Ratio if you respond to the replies in your own post, should you use the #affable tag at the bottom of your comment, however, comments like "Thank you" or "Thank you for stopping by", "nice", "cool", "nice diary game from your side", etc or any similar comments will not be taken into consideration. The minimum comment size should be at least 120 characters.

• Repetitive comments will be considered as an act of spam.

• Use tag #affable in your comment.

• From now onwards you don't need to comment in the announcement post to become a participant, just using #affable tag will enable you as a willing participant. But make sure to become an active participant during the entire month. Refer to "Active Participant Criteria".

• Active-Participant Criteria and No Spam/Pagiarsim are the minimum thresholds of project Affable.

Note- The project "Affable" reserves the right to amend the rule as & when situations arise to deal with abuse.

Conclusion

Depending on the participation rate, we might consider expanding the winner's list. We might also reward quality comments, thought-provoking comments. However, it is solely at the discretion of the project Affable.

That said, we seek to overwhelm by quality comments.

Project Affable will always offer lucrative rewards for the Engagement League depending on the progress, enthusiasm, and participation.

We will also request @steemcurator01 @steemcurator02 to support the quality comments on a regular basis.

Important Note- Project Affable- May' 2021 is announced today i.e. 4th May' 2021. But it will consider all your engagement since 1st May, so make sure you are using the tag #affable in your comment.
