Hello there! Welcome to my digital castle.

It's an interesting place around here and there are different things to do and learn if you look.. But.. Right now we are about to start a new contest, there's going to be a grand prize of 150 steem.. Maybe you might be interested? If so.. Then let me tell you about the Information Finding Championship!

IFC2.jpg

The premise is sort of simple.
I'm going to be doing a different challenge every so often whether it be orientated around photography or writing or memes or music or numerous other things!

The winner of each individual round will get the amount of steem/sbd that the particular challenge/post involved earned, minus the 25% or so that goes to curation.

So.. You have a chance to earn something each time you win an individual round and at the very end there will be a 150 steem grand prize for the winner. :)
Also a 25 steem prize to second place. And 5 steem prize to 3rd.

Additionally if anyone wants to donate to the grand prize total for whatever reason, I'm totally open to that.
Plus.. Whoever wins the grand prize will have an avatar drawn by someone here on steemit to represent them and they will become a permanent part of the IFC world and history of the challenge.

And.. I suppose to make it extra interesting.. You should get some kind of title as well like "Information Finding Champion" if you win the whole deal. :)

If for some reason no one wins a given round, the money that post earns will go towards the grand prize cause I would like to see an even bigger grand prize, but 150 steem is what I personally feel comfortable with doing right now.

I will try to keep my voting power high and upvote the challenge every time so I can get the post started with a little bit of steem/sbd guaranteeing that no challenge will earn 0 steem/sbd.

I want the reward and title to mean something.
This isn't going to be an simple win. It's gonna be a tough competition.

I plan on the competition lasting a good decent amount of time, I don't want it to be quick or easy.
After thinking about it I decided.. The competition will end on July 18th of this year 2018.

To keep you on your toes and make it easier for me.. There's no set schedule and I don't know how many rounds there will be or if it will be a weekly thing or more often or less often than that.. We'll just see how it goes! :)
I'm going to post the challenges when ever it lines up with my schedule and feels like the right time to post.

The idea of this is sort of similar to a line of work I'm interested in getting involved in which is internet research.
Which is basically like being a human google and finding information and sometimes pulling it together from various sources and adding to it or filtering through less trust worthy information and trying to focus on more reliable information and stuff like that.

In a sense you can look at these challenges as being a sort of like a human google type of thing, I'm requesting certain kinds of information and the contestants will try to obtain/find said information for me.
It is my belief that.. Everything is information. Everything has a story to tell, even nothing.. Even the absence of information is information and can tell us something.

For example.. I feel like me asking for a picture of a beautiful sunset and you sharing one with me, whether you found it on google or somewhere else or captured it yourself, the end result is sort of the same.. I'm asking for information and you're finding it for me. Whoever finds the "best" info for my request.. Wins that round.

Okay so, hopefully you now understand the meaning of the language involved and the semantics are out of the way and you get why I call it "Information Finding".

At the time of typing this up steem is at $5.38 so.. The grand prize would be worth around $750 USD and if steem gets to $50 like a lot of people think it will by the end of the year, then at $50 a steem this 150 steem would be around $7500 USD. Hope that helps put into perspective just how much this might be worth some day if steem continues to go up in value.

It's not required that you follow my blog, though it might increase your odds of seeing challenges show up in your feed whenever they may be posted in the future.

22evgr.jpg

First challenge starts now and is a challenge for the best steemit artwork.

It could be a drawing or a video or a song or music or poetry a funny meme, or who knows, whatever.
But.. Just basically a piece of artwork about steemit and in the spirit of.. Something to help sort of.. Bring attention to steemit and perhaps even help draw new people to steemit.

I'll share the winners submission on my steemit and Facebook page, and others can share it as well on their other social media if they would like.

The rules are..

You must create your own blog post on your page in regards to the challenge with a title mentioning the specific contest, IE something like.. "Information Finding Championship - Season 1 : Round 1 entry" and then link it here on this page in the comments below. And you also have to use the #informationfinding tag in your blog post as well.

I accept artwork that you did not create yourself and it doesn't have to be brand new original work, but you must state if you made it yourself or not, and if not who did, and if you don't know who made it.. Tell me you don't know who made it. The more information about the artwork the better.

I will personally much more lean towards the original and unique content people have created themselves, BUT.. That doesn't necessarily mean that's who the winner will be.. This is the Information Finding Championship.. Whoever brings the best information as voted upon by myself and the judges in relation to what I request wins the round.

For this challenge.. If there's a tie.. We'll do another round between just those who tied to see who wins.

The winner will be decided by whoever gets the most votes.
The only people who can vote in a qualifying sense are myself and the four judges I've selected and we will vote by leaving a comment on the submission that we like the most and say something like.. "I vote for this one" and a reason why we voted would be good too, but is not mandatory.

You have until this challenges post payout ends to submit your post, and I think in general for most of the challenges you will have better odds if you submit sooner rather than later.

The challenge will finish after 7 days when the post ends and provides its payout cycle and unless there is a tie, the one with the most votes will get a level up and a point to go towards their long term win and the steem/sbd from the challenge (minus the 25% or so for curation)

A level up...? Yes. Each time you win a challenge you level up!
Levels are mostly just cosmetic/bragging rights at this point though in the future levels may mean more.

I may in the future make it so that certain rounds or challenges have bonuses or penalties for higher or lower level characters.. I'm not sure yet, BUT.. I would like to somehow make it so that levels mean more and I want this whole experience to feel more like a RPG(role playing game). If you have any suggestions about how I could make it more RPG like please let me know!

The Judges of this competition are below and I feel like they are some great judges personally! They all seem like good decent people who want to help. I'm pretty sure all of them or almost all of them said they would do it for free, but I still want to pay them even if it's just a little bit and if they'll let me.

@rarebooksleuth
@luckysteem
@harj
@charisma777

I do not expect any of the judges to be present for ALL of the challenges just like I don't expect any single one of you who accepts this challenge to participate in every single contest.

I'm trying to do this in a sort of unpredictable way where there's no set schedule and you don't know when I'm posting so.. It just is what it is.

The judges are here to help add balance, yet I don't expect them to participate if they are too busy with their "real" lives or don't see a challenge in time or whatever.

I would like to notify the judges each time I post a challenge. Steemit.chat seems like the best option to me right now.. And.. I'm on steemit.chat with two of the judges, so if you're one of the other judges you can contact me on there to get direct notifications when I post each challenge, my name over there is the same as it is here.

Please don't feel like you gotta be here for every challenge if you're a judge or a contestant! I'm happy if you just do what you feel comfortable doing. :)

Plus.. I AM open minded to adding more judges even though we appear to have four right now in addition to myself which is enough. So if judging is something you may be interested in, let me know and maybe we can figure something out..

I'm open to changing things about the competition, and if anyone has any good ideas I will certainly listen, however in the end this is my competition and if you don't like how it is set up, then you don't have to play or participate.

I have a feeling it will evolve, especially with your help.. So please feel free to share any ideas about the whole thing, or if you have any problems or complaints about how it works. If I agree with any issues you point out, I'll try to fix what I can!

I'm kinda new to this and pretty much making it up as I go, so.. Please be patient and understanding. Cause.. I really like this idea and.. Hopefully in the next couple years in the future I'm still doing these and the challenges will be even better by then. ._. Oh.. If you have any ideas about what kind of additional challenges you may like to see in the future, please let me know!

Okay.. About time for me to finish this up.. Umm... I don't ask for assistance that often, but.. I would appreciate that if you appreciate my efforts with what I'm doing here with this contest idea that you give this a resteem to help more people see this so they can participate as well. :) Thank you if you do! And..

Just in case anyone is confused.. To clarify again in regards to the rules.

PS.. I'm super curious to see which two people make it to the final round! And even more curious to see who ends up winning the first season of this contest! Guess we'll find out in a while! :D

Unfortunately I missed the 7 day window and can no longer edit this post to make it easier to read or to update the rules or anything like that.. So it is what it is I guess, until I either make a new post or.. The next season starts.

Even though some people were confused, I think this will probably just have to do for the first season, we have enough people playing already and understanding the rules and my time is so limited, I'm not sure I want to write up a whole new page..

BUT.. I would at least like to leave the discord channel we have created for the competition here. If you would like to join us on there and if you have any questions or whatever, please feel free to ask! :) Cheers. And.. Here's the link.

first, I love the castle so glad you were able to find someone to do it too! I am super stoked to see the artwork coming in!

Glad to hear you love the castle!! :) And yeah! Me to... I'm super grateful and I feel like I got super lucky and met a really great artist with an awesome attitude and unique style and I'm so happy I bumped into her! She did an amazing job! ._.

I also am excited to see the artwork. I hope that even if it starts out a bit slow that it builds more in time. I have a feeling it will! :) We'll see how it goes though, thank you so much for being a judge and for helping out! <3

You are most welcome, I also am excited to see the whole rpg aspect of it all, I love rpg's!! Enjoy the rest of your night!

That's cool you love rpg's as well! I grew up on them and they have a special place in my heart, which is one reason this whole challenge appeals to me so much, especially the more RPG like it becomes, and last night I was thinking about this a LOT.. And I think I found a really good way to make this much more RPG like.. :) I'm so excited!

Still not totally sure how the "leveling up" will work longterm, though.. This other idea I just had is great! I look forward to revealing it very soon.. Maybe even tomorrow. Cheers! :D

Your excitement is contagious!! I am sure it will be awesome!!

:)

This is too cool and I'm glad I found it!
Will make my post in the next few days here!
I do enjoy how its a long term event as well and can definitely be rewarding long term to all us contestants!

PS: That picture is also mind blowingly cool..would 100% put that up in my house!

Word! Glad you have such positive energy about it. :)
Thanks for the feedback and in regards to the artwork you may want to contact the artist here on steemit and you could possibly make that happen in regards to getting one for your house?
Also.. I look forward to seeing your submission! And.. I haven't told anyone else this yet.. Partly just because I thought of it recently.. But because you have such a great enthusiasm for this... I'll tell you first. Right now I'm planning on trying to post one of these contests every day for the first week before I then likely slow down a bit, however right now.. I really wanna sort of get this started with a number of entries, so if you wanna do well in the long term challenge I suggest you especially keep an eye on my page for the next week or so, I plan to be posting hopefully one a day as I mentioned! Cheers. :)

PS.. Oh in fact, I already posted the second challenge earlier today.. The subject of that one is the "moon".
Here's the link to that one if you wanna check it out as well!

https://steemit.com/contest/@apolymask/information-finding-championship-season-1-round-2-150-steem-grand-prize

I think its brilliant I will definitely get in touch with @yeszuzia I actually stared at it for about 5 minutes before posting this. I feel like it just brings you into this imaginary world, brings me back to playing video games!

Awesome well I best get to work on my first submission before I get onto the next one and not fall to far behind. I just got back from holiday so I should be able to catch up in no time!
Thanks again @apolymask :D

That's a bad ass castle bro, love it. I won't do the contest, but I have huge appreciation for you for organizing and putting so much work in it! Much Love!

Thanks jankasparec!!! Glad you like the castle. :) I feel like you should be one of the characters in this world... Are you sure you don't wanna play?

If you are sure.. Then.. Would you perhaps at least consider being a special guest judge some day in the future when we do a painting challenge or something like that?

If not no worries and no pressure bud! Though I would love to see you make an appearance some day in this fantasy steemit world I'm creating. ._. Maybe even I could pay you some steem to make me an image for the competition..? That would be super duper awesome! Please consider it.. And thanks for appreciating the effort either way! Cheers bud!

Sure for this time but would not mind expressing my opinion about art in the future. Just hit me up bro! And thank you for your trust!

Word! I'd be happy for you to contribute as much as or as little it is comfortable for you to do so, no pressure or expectations. :) I'm honored you're open minded to the idea!
This world is even more colorful and awesome with jankasparec in it! :D

you're too sweet bro. Make sure to remind me, I operate on high speed and I can forget :) Have a great night, hug to Sedona!

Will do. :) No worries. And thanks man!! Same to you! :D

Well done Apoly your getting the show on the road! This is impressive (info finding Steemit related art challenge) glad to be part of it thanks bro ! X, ps love the Artwork for the contest.

Thanks harj! I am indeed. It's official now. :D I'm excited. I have some really cool ideas too, glad you're along for the ride! Also glad to hear you like the artwork as well! I think she did a wonderful job with it! I'm stoked and super grateful. Cheers friend!

I really enjoyed your entry! At first I didn't know what to expect as I was reading it.. But.. I really like your vision and your idea and your dream. :) I'm not voting on any entry just yet, I want to wait until I see more.. But.. I just wanted to say right now that I like yours a lot so far! And.. Thanks for participating in the challenge! :)

Thank you very much, just happy to be here, and take part.

You're welcome. That's a great attitude. :) Glad to have you here.

Cool idea bashadow! I like your entry! I'm not officially voting until I see more entries, but I wanted to mention that I liked your entry and also thanks for participating in the challenge. :)

Well I hope your not voting yet, it is only day one. LoL. I spread the word a little bit sort of. I hope you don't mind the other plug I made. They are a good group of kind hearted souls.

Lol! Yeah.. I don't think it would be right to vote until I get to see more, just wanted to be clear with my language as this is all new and we're just getting started!
And thanks for spreading that word! That's exactly what we need. More people participating.. So far only uhh.. 2 entries I think, with another person saying they will enter when they get the time, and another who appears to be working on an entry as well, and few others sort of expressing interest in the rules and stuff.

I have to say it's both better and worse than I expected, lol.. I'm not sure that makes any sense, but part of me expected almost no interaction at all on the post and another part of me expected a much bigger turnout, though.. I have to say.. I'm feeling good about this.. Even if it's only 4 people for the first round, that's a good start for me I think. :)

In time it will grow as I do more challenges! I'm feeling really good about the challenge so far even with so few participating.. I'm not sure why, I just feel really positive about it and like people are going to enjoy it and have fun and over time it will grow so I shouldn't worry about the lack of people playing in the first few rounds.

SO yeah.. Thanks for getting the word out!!! That helps a lot! :)
And no, I don't mind the plug at all. They do seem like a good group, I already talked to and followed one of them and I definitely tend to get along well with other likeminded people who want to help others and the world and not just selfishly "take take take".
Looking forward to surrounding myself with more good people and I appreciate you helping me to meet other cool people as well! Cheers. ._.

First day, first contest, first for a lot of things. I am sure it will grow and spread, and by the end of day six you will have a few more entrants. Some people like to wait til close to the end of contest, that way they do not get copied and out done on their idea. Me I don't care about that sort of thing, gotta have someone toss that first ball out or everyone just ends up sitting on their hands wondering what or how to do it. LoL.

That's a good point! I do think there will be numerous more entries by the time this challenge is complete. It would make sense that some are still thinking of what they are going to do, or waiting until later to do it for whatever reason.. SO yeahh.. That's important to consider. I guess we'll see how it goes. :) But I think as I keep doing more and more of these challenges that it will grow.

Strangely enough I had this thought in the back of my mind for a while that it would be awesome if steemit had more of an RPG element to it, and while it already does feel like a video game in itself in some ways, this challenge I'm doing.. I think it has an appeal that people will like! Cause it is going to be sort of like a role playing game. :) An RPG where you can level up and make real money!
I think that's an awesome idea! I hope it I can make it work on my end and that others feel similar.

But yeah,I essentially agree and I'm gladd you did toss the ball out cause that helps others get started! That's super important. :) Thanks, I look forward to see how it all plays out!

Hi @apolymask, it was great to see that @yeszuzia's artwork featured on the contest that you have created. I did some bounty related contest previously and it was great to for connecting people on steemit and discovering new information and knowledge so I am very excited to see it finally happening :)

Hey!!! Thank you so much for introducing me to yeszuzia!! She has added so much character and spirit to this contest through her amazing artwork! :) I've heard so many people say such great things about the castle picture she made, she really did a wonderful job! :D
And.. Oh? That's cool you did a contest as well, and yeah. I'm having a blast so far! It's been a lot of fun doing this whole thing. :) I'm glad I decided to try it out! Was well worth it! ._.

I haven't seen @yeszuzia write a post about the artwork, so I am looking out for that. So glad it all worked out well in the end :)

I did do some contests but I didn't have a lot of followers so it was just for me to try and connect with more people. I like the idea of the human Google power, and you might be interested in some of the ideas I had previously in the past, most of which are related to people on Steemit (look at the past contests):

https://steemit.com/makesteemitgreat-again/@plushzilla/steemit-bounty-contest-9-wanted-alive-and-well-best-friends-on-steemit-and-in-real-life

Word! And thanks for the link I'll check it out now. Sorry for the incredibly delayed response! Heh. I got so busy and overwhelmed with the project.

Great initiative @apolymask - this prize could really bring some fierce competition! Looking forward to the results of each series.

Thanks @getonthetrain! And I hope it does! I want it to be as meaningful as possible for everyone involved. :)

Hopefully this idea just continues to grow and grow and evolve over time with the platform itself! Glad to hear you're looking forward to seeing the results also! I think it's going to be a really fun deal in the long run. :) It already is for me! (PS I would upvote your comment more but I'm saving my power for the next competition so I can only do so much right now)

This is an awesome idea! I am going to try participating myself later in the week. I bookmarked the post for now.

Glad you think so! :) I really like the idea too! I'm having a lot of fun with it. ._.
In fact, I have a really good idea I want to implement soon which I think is going to make this all even more fun. Anyways.. Thanks for participating and I look forward to seeing your entry later on when you get it ready. :)

I think the idea of creating a long term contest with multiple rounds is both ambitious and courageous. However, I also believe a clearer roadmap would be more encouraging to potential participants. I think you are sitting on a golden opportunity for both yourself and the potential winners, but I’d encourage you to refine the guidelines one more time, before you really give it a go!

Thanks for your thoughts! I understand it's not all perfect and there just yet, I mentioned that in my OP and I asked for specific help. What more would you personally like clarity on? I'm guessing the duration of the challenge? Or something else?

I sort of want to see how it goes before I decide how long the challenge is going to be, I wanna gauge the interest and depending on how much or little there is will depend on how long I make it.
I'm totally open to suggestions as I mentioned! And would appreciate any further insight you have to offer. Thank you.

I wanted to ask if you can make the rules more clear...
is any kind of artwork accepted?

Yes. Any kind of artwork, it's up to you. Sorry if that wasn't clear enough in the OP.
Do you want me to make the rules even more clear in some way or does that answer your question?

no it did answer, thank you

Screenshot_2.png

Sir, this sentence is a bit confusing for me. I have written some poetic lines. Can I share them in the competition or I must be purely focusing on Steemit.com?

Sorry for the confusion. You can do poetry or any form of artwork, BUT.. The subject is steemit.. So your poetry should have something to do with steemit.

I hope that helps!

Thank you so much. It is quite clear now and please mention in the post about the language of the content. What if some people want to be a part of the contest by posting in their national languages? personally, I will share English but maybe there are some people who will share their national or local languages.

You're welcome, glad it's clear now. And.. Whoa.. That's a really interesting point I had not even thought of.. In regards to language. I sort of just assumed everyone would be English speaking.

I'm not sure if it should be up to me to translate other peoples languages, I sorta think they should have to translate into English.. But.. I will think about it for a while cause I had not thought of that yet. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, I'm not sure what I'll do about it yet.. But, will ponder on it for a bit.

I think it should be in English because if a person shares his/her poetry it is very hard or even impossible to retain its essence and change it into another language. I think you should ponder on a lot and also make a specific timeline for the contest. Thank you so much. Don't upvote this comment because sir you have to save steem power for the contest. God bless you.

I agree in regards to the language! About the timeline.. I will consider what you said, though at this point.. I'm hesitant to say how long to make it without seeing more what the interest level is like, I think when I see what it's going like for a couple weeks then I can probably much closer say.

You're welcome, I'm watching my voting power no worries! But I appreciate your humbleness! :)
Also.. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I especially appreciate all the feedback right now as I'm just getting started and that's one reason I gave you such a high reward, because you helped me with something I had not thought about before! :)
Peace.

I think this is a great contest. It will be interesting to see how many people will sign up and be a part of it. Anything to bring the steemit community is always a great idea. Thanks for putting this together.

You're welcome. Thanks for appreciating the effort! :) And yeah! I'm super curious to see what happens. :) It's definitely been on my mind a lot! Heh.

Hello

@amariespeaks suggested me to check your post and I'm glad I did.

I am @noisyboy

I create comic strips, and I am the author of Stupid is as stupid does
I just posted my first episode on Steemit.

https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@noisyboy/stupid-is-as-stupid-does-episode-00-and-episode-01-naatsu-and-plagiarism

This comic is about the life events of seemingly ordinary and unimpressive Adam, his sister Kayden and their group of friends.

Panel-06.png

@apolymask i would like to nominate myself.

Uniquely creative way to teach people about Steemit :) this one highlights plagiarism do's and don't's and I'm excited to see what @noisyboy comes up with for episode 2 :)

Thank you.

I really do appreciate your support. @amariespeaks

i have just posted Stupid is as Stupid does: Episode#02 - Creepy House

nice artwork!

Glad you like it!

Heres my entry its rushed a lot didnt have much time to prepare just wanted to try anyways gl to everyone and nice art works on your blog

Hey I love this idea! I read through the comments and I must say, I like @bashadow's entry...I'm doing my #newbieresteemday with @davemccoy and @mudcat36 tomorrow or the next day:) I'm sure everyone remembers feeling somewhat lost when they first got on here.

Having said that, I would like @briancourteau's poem "Ode to steemit" entered ( https://steemit.com/writing/@briancourteau/ode-to-steemit-poem), but I saw your contest after he just posted it yesterday. His entry was supposed to be my surprise to him, but I'm wondering if he should go back and edit to include your hashtag? or are you looking for new posts only. Thanks again, it's a great idea that I am more than happy to resteem:) Cheers!

Hey! Nice to hear from you, and yes I like bashadow's entry as well! His entry on the second challenge I posted earlier today is also really good. :) That's cool you're doing the newbieresteem thing as well. I totally support that effort. :)

And yeah.. I still feel kinda lost here! Lol.. But it definitely is feeling more and more like home. Especially with this digital castle I've got setup now. :D

It doesn't have to be a new post, but I think it would be better if it was. What you can do if you wanna make it a surprise is.. Make your own blog post under the rules given and then explain your intentions and share the link to his blog post in your submission and that should work perfectly!

Lemme know if you have any questions or anything like that, I would be super stoked if you participate in these challenges more. :)

Oh.. And thanks for the resteem as well! All the best to you lynncoyle1!

PS.. I'm having a glitch right now where it's not letting me up vote your comment, this has happened to me a couple times before. Will try again in a bit and if it still doesn't work I'll upvote it tomorrow and then it should work.

oh my gosh no worries! thank you though!

And that's a great idea for me to do a post with his poem...hadn't thought about that. I will do that tomorrow, and my newbieresteem day the following. Always happy to support you buddy:)

I love your castle too...forgot to tell you that:)

Yeah.. It's still not working, oh well I'll just give your vote I was going to give you to the above comment you just made, I would like to give you even more.. But.. I'm getting stressed on my voting power and I need to try to keep it up more for the competition.

Glad to hear you love the castle! I've been having a lot of people tell me they like it. The artist did a wonderful job! I'm so happy with it. :)

PS.. I just looked at your entry cause I got so caught up in all this I somehow didn't click on the link and I like his poem! I look forward to you sharing it on here, I think the other judges will like it as well. And personally.. I'm not sure if I should say this or if I will vote for his poem in the end, but.. I hope he wins this round! He seems like a good guy. :)
Plus I really like his poem! I think it's perfect for the subject matter even more so than the other entries so far.

Aww thanks man! I really appreciate that:) I'm probably biased, but I think he's a pretty good guy haha And no worries about the upvote...I totally understand; I run out of voting power daily:)

Nice boss

post is too long. but I keep reading to the end. though I do not know how to challenge this.
#informationfinding

Sorry you felt the post was too long. Do you have any specific questions I can help you with? I'm not sure what area you're having trouble with...?

This is my entry to the first round of the competition arranged by you, sir. I have written this poem to motivate all the Steemians and especially the newbies that keep on working hard and ultimately you will get success.

Hey dude, congrats for the launch of this so much expected contest. It's going to be the most exciting and challenging contest of the year.
The castle is very well done, compliments to the artist @yeszuzia!
May I suggest if you can put the rules in paragraph and bullets points, so it is easy for us to find it and just post the link of this post in the following weekly challenges?

I made my second entry regarding the moon, I nice gif and a poem, I will make the first entry as soon as I can. How long time do I have for the best steemit artwork?
So excited and looking forward!!

Hey friend! I just ate and it's 6:30 am so I need to pass out very soon but I just wanted to answer your questions real quick.

May I suggest if you can put the rules in paragraph and bullets points, so it is easy for us to find it and just post the link of this post in the following weekly challenges?

I'm not totally sure I understand maybe it's because I just stuffed my face with food and my blood is all going to my stomach to digest my food but could you reword this and go into more detail ask again?

I made my second entry regarding the moon, I nice gif and a poem, I will make the first entry as soon as I can. How long time do I have for the best steemit artwork?

Awesome! I look forward to seeing your entry. You have until when the post payout ends for each given challenge which is like 7 days I think from the original posting? So.. Once the payout ends, that challenge ends.

Makes me happy to see you excited and I'm super excited also! I have a feeling this is going to be a really fun challenge, it's already been a lot of fun for me setting it up! Hopefully it is fun for others as well. :)
Will check out your entry and upvote tomorrow(conserving voting energy for challenge), err.. I mean later today, lol.. I need to go to bed. Talk to you later sandrina!

Thank you!
Regarding the rules, I was suggesting to write for example like this
IN PARAGRAPHS LIKE THIS - For example: requirements

  • with bullets points
  • tags
  • timeframe
    REWARDS AND REGULATIONS FOR WINNING
It is more readable and understandable, especially for no english speakers kids =)

I understand that the reward is coming from the 75% of the post payout, but this can't be very encouraging if the pay out is 3.2SBD or 2,35SBD. I believe that if you propose less challenges, you will have a bigger payout and high participation.
Also, I encourage you to be clear from the beginning about the quantity of rounds your want to introduce. Because I personally can't keep up more than 1 round a week, it is not only for the time, but for the quality of my creativity. This week you already proposed 3 entries. I believe that if you want quality content, (people spend time to make illustrations/write/create and post) 3 rounds in 1 week is really too much for us.
Of course this is a long term contest, I am just saying that if you want to keep us competing for longtime, you also have to be understanding!

I tried to use the bullet points and it made all my list of numbers turn into 1's... So not exactly sure what to do there..

Sorry if the reward isn't encouraging, I can only upvote for around $2.. So.. Anything more than that is up to the generousness of others. In time I have a have a feeling I will gain the attention of a whale or something and it will improve a lot, even today I got some help from another person who is near where I am in terms of ability to reward posts and even that little bit helps, but.. I dunno what to say. I focused this challenge on the long term grand prize, everything else is sort of just a bonus in my mind.

I don't know how many rounds I will be doing, I mentioned in my OP that I don't know and I'll figure it out as I go. I recently decided to post once a day for the first week in order to encourage more users to join which I think will help the contest as a whole, so if you're too busy.. I apologize.. I'm posting a lot in the beginning in order to get more people playing. I'm going to slow down after the first week and probably just post once or twice a week after that. If you are too busy, I apologize.

When you say it's too much for "us" I dunno what to say, I've had numerous people entering all 3 competitions every day so far and, some people seem to be able to handle it just fine. Though ultimately look.. I don't have time to keep up this pace either.. Which is why I'm just doing a lot in the beginning and them I'm slowing down.

I hope you understand, but at this point.. I'm going to keep posting every day for the first week because I want to grow the competition and give everyone a sort of fair playing field and starting area. For example.. If I do a challenge every day, that gives any person who discovers this by the 6th day a chance to enter all the previous challenges. And each time a person enters a challenge they create a post on their page which potentially brings more people to the competition.

I already see this is working sandrina. My followers have gone up like.. 40 in the past few days or more.. And the people actively participating in each challenge has increased noticeably. I really really really see this as very important to do a bunch of challenges in the beginning, it's sort of like an ICO (initial coin offering) those who invest at the beginning will be in much better shape down the long run.

And hey.. Even if you miss like.. the next 5-7 challenges or more, you should still be fine! This competition is designed so that you can miss a bunch and still be in a good position. Which is one reason I don't even expect the judges to be present and I give them the freedom to interact as much or as little as they want. No one is being forced to participate, everyone is voluntarily choosing to do so and I hope you'll continue to play even if you can't keep up with the challenges during this first week. <3

Hi my friend, thanks for taking the time to explain.
I expressed my doubts because when I do creative work I spent time and put my passion in it (it took me 4 hours to do the moon celery gif, just to make you understand how long it might take). A good illustration can take until 5-6 hours. It is not like 15 minutes post content.

However, this is your contest, so I respect your decision, to do 7 rounds in the first week and as much as you like afterwards.

At the moment, I am just very discouraged because I see judges already voting even before I do my entry.
What is the point for me to submit entries for round 1 and 3 if I start disadvantaged?
I know you are a kind soul, but I think judges should only vote after all the entries have been submitted after 7 days, because again if you want quality entries and not 15 minutes post content, it takes time and I don't want to rush to post as soon as possible, if I want to post a good entry.
What do you think? Is there such a rule among judges to vote only after all the entries have been done?

You're welcome. I value you as a friend and as a player in this world.

That's both cool and I see your point in regards to how much time you spent, however.. I'm not really sure what to say there. I would HOPE that the people who spend more time on their entries get rewarded for it more than the quickies. Or just the best content in general regardless of how much time was spent.
Yet.. This is a difficult contest as I mentioned, you sorta need to decide how much time and effort you wanna spendon any given challenge. Some may be more suited to you than others, some you might wanna skip totally.. And some you might wanna spend 4 hours on! PS I was already thinking about voting for that one but knowing you spent so much time on it makes me even more likely to. However I still can't promise, I want to try to be fair and see as many entries as possible before I vote.

And.. I apologize for I think you're referring to harj?
I saw one vote by a judge and I told him numerous times I think it's better to wait until the end to see all the entries, but that's his choice.

I could ask the community or the judges or both if they think we should change it so that judges don't vote until the end.
Do you think they should not be allowed to vote sooner?

I agree with you by the way that the judges should wait and I am pretty sure I told all of them this.. So.. I guess if you think it's important enough, we can make an issue out of it and I can bring the subject up to those involved. I'm happy to try to work with you and others to make this better. :)

Yes, I am exactly referring to it. Now I am preparing a song for the round 1: a song means, preparing the lyric, the chords, practice and make a video out of it. It is time demanding. I don't want to dowload a photo of someone and share it just do to an entry. If for you the information finding championship is an exchange of information is another story.
I value my "comedy" (I don't even call it art) and I think that if you want to award originality and creativity, you should give the time to everybody to submit their entry within 7 days and then the judges will upvote based on the general level.
I don't want to make any issue, you guys decide.

A song, wow. That's awesome. Okay.. Umm.. What if a judge is going to be busy later in the week and can only vote earlier? Do you really think judges shouldn't be allowed to vote earlier?

If you still do after what I just said above, then I will make changes. In the end it is my competition and I can change the rules.

Lemme know what you think based on the argument that judges may need to vote early because they are too busy to vote later?

I'm a lil confused what you mean in regards to this part.

If for you the information finding championship is an exchange of information is another story.

I'm not sure what you mean here! But I think some challenges are quicker and easier than others as well, like the one about picking a future contest, that shouldn't take someone more than like 5 to 10 or 20 minutes to think of something and they could do it while riding the bus to work or whatever.. I'm gonna do a funny selfie contest, that takes like a minute to take a funny picture of yourself.. I mean..Some of these are really quick and easy, I think it sorta depends on how deep you wanna go with it.

BY THE WAY... Since you like comedy so much, I'm going to give you a lil hint. A headstart, the next challenge is going to be about comedy. :) So.. I definitely hope you'll stick around for that one, but I understand if you're too busy!

PS I was just thinking..
Maybe we could make it so that the judges have to vote at the very end UNLESS they are too busy, and if they like have a family meeting or whatever and can't do it, then they can vote early. How does that sound? Is that a fair compromise?

Here's my entry!! It's a poem written by @briancourteau called "Ode to steemit". Enjoy! Thank you so much for putting this contest on; I'm going to check out the other rounds also:) Cheers!
