What Is This?

I want to let everyone know about this contest I found! It is called the #steemawarecontest by @itwithsm, which by the way is the first IT company to accept STEEM and SBD as payment. This is great and I know how exciting it can be as I run the first company to accept bitcoin in my city and I would also happily accept Steem/SBD

This contest is designed to help all the newcomers that are pouring into Steemit and help prevent them from making mistakes that can hurt their reputation and success! I've also seen a few people having a hard time with this contest so I've taken the time to clarify as best as I can so read up! If you've signed up to Steemit within the last month, week, day or hour, this contest is especially for you!

The rules are so simple, anyone with a brain can do it

Just follow the guidelines for every challenge of this contest and we need at least 100 participants to continue this contest successfully. So, keep telling your friends about this contest.

The first rule is to basically make a post like the one you're reading now to spread the word! Don't forget to add #contest and #steemawarecontest as your first two tags! Once you make the post, you paste your link in their discord as indicated in the updated rules post. This will initiate the second part of your first challenge which is to get other friends and new steemians to join the contest!

About the Steem Aware Contest

So after reading all the posts, there are going to be 24 challenges handed out in a 30 day period, so 30 days will be the length of the contest! You will compete in 24 basic challenges that @itwithsm has set up for us to complete. Points will be awarded per challenge, and at the end of each challenge the winners will be announced up until the end of the contest, at which point the winner will be awarded. There is also a lot of SBD's to be earned through posting, commenting, and following the curation trail through Streemian.com as mentioned in their post.

So you see, it is designed to educate you as well as help you build and polish your blogging skills to create great original content! An amazing incentive to help stop abuse on the platform.

Why I joined this contest and how it will benefit me

I can see that there are a lot of new users joining the site as well and there is so much hype that people are jumping in head first without realizing they are minnows in the shallow end. Don't bump your head! When first getting into anything you must always take the time to read. Many are not doing this, but just jumping straight to posting. I can see the value in it, and it will even help me become a better blogger as I just joined back in November. Completing the 24 challenges will certainly help with the quality of my posts.

Why this is helpful for the platform

Besides the huge incentive to win those 100 SBDs, it will help educate everyone on how to create better posts, be better writers and bring more attention to quality content. I think this will give less attention to bad content and abusers will have a harder time getting undeserved upvotes. It will also make it easier to pinpoint bad posts and abusers.

What to do with my earnings
