Both options are different. A Brilliant creative person can work as a team worker, but a team worker might be a brilliant one or not. To be a successful worker on team one need to be creative. Otherwise he/she will be counted as average category.

In general, I think we value team very highly when we talk and independent creativity when we do. Getting a team to work well and create well is harder work, but more rewarding with richer results than independent creativity. There should, however, be a place for both.

As with most things, context is important. I don't think you could generally say one is more important than the other but if we are speaking career wise, being a team player is likely more important.

If we are talking about success though, I would argue that creativity is needed to make it in today's world. Whether it's making yourself stand out on your resume or through other means, it will lead to success. Creativity also implies critical thinking which would lead to problem solving abilities - Something that is also important for success, showing that you are able to think for yourself and do what needs to be done without others telling you what to do.

Looking at people and comparing yourself with them will not make you better but bitter. If you know the sort of load the chameleon carries, you would'nt ask why it takes those gentle strides. It's the only thing that makes us more unique. Because being mainstream's kinda bit boring for the others. I’d rather be brilliantly creative. Anyone can be a team player (sheep), but the latter is a talent you can only be born with. That’s value in the workplace, that can’t be replaced so easily. Sometimes being bright is not enough, in this platform no matter how good your posts are, if you do not have a team that supports your content, it is likely that you will not achieve your goals quickly, I know many brilliant people, but they always needed someone who will support your idea or project .
A simple example is the post-it, its brilliant creators Spencer Silver and Art Fry were the ones who created the product, and today they are defined as: "economically comfortable", while the 3M company sells millions of Post-It adhesive papers per year , they did not create the idea, but they are a company full of people who work for a purpose together and in that way they make it work.

In conclusion:
If two heads think better than one, imagine if they were more than two.

If you run through all four possibilities of the combinations of the two personality traits, i believe one can come to the conclusion that being a team worker > brilliantly creative person.

if someone is a team worker and not a brilliantly creative person then they are far more likely to succeed than a brilliantly creative person that isnt a team worker.

I feel this depends heavily on what you are trying to achieve and the environment you are working in. For example growing in Steem I would argue is about 50/50 creativity and teamwork, your creativity wont be seen without networking and networking is pointless if you have no creativity to put on display.

however in a one person art startup like an etsy store creativity becomes overwhelmingly more important.

Then on the other end of the spectrum working for example a tradition job in IT support teamwork is far more important than creativity.
So in conclusion this is an interesting question as I don't think there is a single easy answer.

It goes without questioning that being a team worker is more important than being a brilliantly creative person
Although, having excellent corporational and communicational skills goes a long way in the society than just being a brilliantly creative person and there is a saying that says two heads are better than one.
For a brilliantly creative person,if there is a mistake in his work it might be overlooked but when a team is working and there is a mistake from one side , the problem cannot be overlooked and it would be solved together.
Also being a team worker also helps to learn self esteem and self control around people

I think that in the end you need to have other people too. One way or the other... Even if you are a brilliant creative person, you still need others for other purposes. Maybe you want to sell your art, and don't know anything about how to sell it, and need a marketing person for that. Or maybe you need someone's network to get noticed.. Working together is key in the end.. Bundling powers...

“Team” is one of the most used and abused of buzz words, but there is such a thing as working together as a team. Here is a quick rule of thumb: if the people that are supposed to be in your “team” make it more difficult for you to do your job, then you are not really part of a team. Those people might as well be gone and your job would be easier. On the other hand, if someone in your “team” needs help to do their job and no one is willing to help, then that is not a very good team either. There’s more.

Personally, I think being a talented individual is more important than being a “team worker”, but that’s probably because most of the jobs I’ve had involved being tasked with projects and carrying on with the attitude to “make it happen”. I then temper that with respect for other people. It works. The notion of “team” becomes vague if there’s no difference between the group of people you are supposed to work with and simply the other people that are working on the project. Being a “team” requires an authentic commitment to rules, leadership, consequences for failure, and good faith. But typically, “team” is a buzzword for herding people together and getting them moving along at the same pace, and has more to do with managing employees in groups to pool resources.

I don’t think these are mutually exclusive nor are they binary attributes in any individual.

To what degree these attributes are important also highly depends on what you are doing. I would say team focus is highly important in sports like football and in military combat for example, whereas an artist or actor or chess player must first have creative brilliance. For the vast majority of us, a sprinkling of each is needed to survive and enjoy life and the ability to swap focus from one to the other is also necessary.

Depends on the situation, being brilliant and creative may land you a leadership spot on the team, while being a team worker will give you... well a place on the team, depends on your ambitions and your desires i guess, you can try to tune down your power level a bit, but if you are truly amazing and creative it will start showing up anyways.

If you are able to get yourself in a team even if the team is constituted of foolish ideas as long as suggestions is being made by each on how to handle a situation, their creativity will surpass that of any creative individual. Their variations in perspective is their most important weapon against any individual whose outlook is limited to his alone.

I forever believe a team with proper communication networks or relations will beat any individual.

Working with a Team you can achieve more than working alone. We get more ideas from your team mates, we get help in case your not able to do something. Many brains at work make a brilliant Team to which a brilliant brain alone cannot compete with. Also interaction with team mates adds a little fun to your job, rather doing it alone.
