The winning photo of the year 2018 by @axeman

We already know all 12 monthly winners of the year 2019 and now we need to determine the winner. Originally, I thought it would be the monthly winner with the biggest value of upvotes on the respective winner announcement but because the price of Steem and therefore also the value of the upvotes were changing significantly throughout the year, it would not be very fair.

To make the competition as fair as possible for all 12 contestants, I decided to proceed like this:

You will find all 12 monthly winners with their entries in the comments below. Each of them in a separate comment. You can vote for your favorite photo by upvoting the corresponding comment. The entry with the biggest total value (not number!) of upvotes will become the new yearly winner and will be rewarded with 100 Steem! You can cast your votes for 7 days from now on.

To make the voting as simple and clear as possible, please do not post any other images in the comment section but feel free to leave a supportive comment and your upvote of the image that you want to become the yearly winner. It would also be great if you could resteem this post for increased exposure. Thank you so much for your cooperation.

For more information about the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge and its rules & conditions, please see the latest update post.

Here are all 12 monthly winners of 2019. The choice is yours.

@mrprofessor April 2019 winning entry:

Canyon Fortaleza - Cambará do Sul, Brazil. On the flat lands of southern Brazil I once found myself near this big scar on the earth. The canyons Fortaleza and Intaimbezinho are one of the most iconic and impressive points to contemplate what nature can produce.

Stunning capture! Looks like a serious match for the Grand Canyon in Arizona :) Good luck in the final mate ;)

Hooooah, I've heard it's deeper than the Grand Canyon!!!

@ladybug146 June 2019 winning entry:

Another goodie from Banff National park. This is a view of Cascade Mountain and the small resort town of Banff at the bottom from the top of Sulfur Mountain at over 7000 ft in altitude. In april, most of the snow in the valleys is melted leaving snow covered peaks until summer. Taking pictures from high altitudes results in a blue haze when looking down below, fighting with the atmosphere, much like when looking up at the sky, it appears blue, same concept but reverse.

Breathtaking scenery! Good luck in the final :)

Thank you!! :) I'm both proud and surprised to have a picture here. Thanks Tom and @phortun you guys are great. xox

@vcclothing March 2019 winning entry:

On a recent trip to Namibia we got to climb dune 45. Dune 45 is part of the world's largest sand dunes, located in the Sossusvlei desert. We climbed up it at sunrise, it was amazing climbing up through the morning fog, then to watch it all clear away and realised how high up we actually were.

@gunnarheilmann February 2019 winning entry:

This is a lucky shot one gets rarely. Last year i was at the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest in California photographing at night. Then take a 4000 years old tree, 3 Shooting Stars (the third one is hard to see in low res) and a plane add the Milky Way and wait for this to happend it in front of you in the same minute you sit there. I got lucky and managed to get it in one single long exposure Light Painting. Starting off with a first 2minute of the exposure at F22 ISO 3200 lighting up the Metusalem, then when I was finished with that I gave the Milky Way another 30 seconds to develop, changing the settings of the lens to F2.8. Then we saw 3 shooting stars in the sky plus that air plane. What a surprise! What makes that picture so special is that there was no layers needed in post-production. Just the way I like it, No Photoshop needed.

The clarity of the water at my local marine sanctuary is amazing at the moment. I love it when the conditions are like this and have been getting down there as much as possible. The northern beaches of Sydney are so lucky to have Cabbage Tree Bay on it's doorstep!

@dmytrokorol July 2019 winning entry:

Beautiful morning on Playa el Bollulo, Tenerife, Canary Islands. This beach with pitch black volcanic sand is one of the most beautiful on the island. I was mesmerized with the contrast of sand and the water rolling back and creating the white foamy lines. I have spent some time just looking at this natural beauty and noticed the amazing subtle reflection in the middle ground. All I needed is a subject and it was easy to find because there are several rock formations on the beach. I took several shots to find the right balance in all this permanent changing and combined several images (foreground with the leading lines, middle ground with reflection and subject with rock and crashing waves).

@mrprofessor August 2019 winning entry:

Colonia del Sacramento - Uruguay. Colonia del Sacramento is one of the historic cities in Uruguay that has lived through the conflicts between Portugal and Spain. This photo was taken during one of my Hitchhiking trips where the patience not only rewards you with a ride, but also with moments of utter contemplation.

We spent a day out quad bike riding through the sand dunes in the Swakopmund desert in Namibia. It's sure was alot of fun out there on the bikes. The land scape felt like we where on another planet.

@axeman September 2019 winning entry:

This time nice view from Sharjah, UAE. This is of smallest and "poorest" Emirates but most religiously concerned... There are no so many skyscrapers than in Dubai, but still much more than in my city.. :D Here had quite a luck to catch sun's halo on sunset. Though pretty hard shooting conditions straight against the sun and without LEE gradient filter. So had to gather a lot of information from the shadows to get building details, but well, good enough I hope. Enjoy the scenery!
