This is a cashew tree. I grew up around an orchard that had so many fruits and me and my sibling always went there and climbed trees and and picked fruits. I especially loved the cashew apple. We wrongly called it "alacadion" I later found that the scientific genus name is Anacardium. I spent a lot of time looking it up under the wrong spelling. I did not realize either that it was a cashew tree. I only ate the cashew apple which looks like this

The fruit is so delicious 😋. I wish I could buy the fruit but unfortunately it is highly perishable. So unless I can live beside the orchard again or someone who has the tree.

wax palm colombia

It is found from Valle del Cauca to Jardín, Antioquia, Quindío, Risaralda and from Sasaima to Chaguaní in Cundinamarca, i bring it because they are increasingly threatened by the advance of livestock in Quindío and Tolima.

They are national heritage and It is the highest in the world and reaches up to 60 meters in height, with an average life of 100 years, but has a process of regeneration too slow, hat is why the 061 law of 1985 prohibited the cutting, transportation and commercialization of said palm in Colombian territory.

So that's a little resume of this fantastic tree

Any pic as long as your comment about that tree is interesting and educational.

Mine would be an Olive tree, there are pretty usual in the Mediterranean. In Dalmatia where i am from, Olive trees are a common sight. Almost every house has a few planted in the front. Most families even own an olive cove and produce olive oil for their home use. Olives are usually picked in late autumn October, November.

Benefits of olive trees:

  1. It is an evergreen tree, with unique green silver colored leafs.
  2. The olive branch is a symbol of peace.
  3. They produce olives which give you olive oil.
  4. Olive oil is good for your health 😁

Heres a picture of me and my girlfriend picking olives in Croatia. 🙋14895635_10154191442617893_2047361903_o.jpg

pecan grove.jpg

I have lots of favorite trees! I love different kinds of trees for different reasons. I especially love trees that are older than me. To pick one it would have to be the Pecan Tree.

Where I grew up, we had lots of pecan trees. They evoke a sense of "home" for me. I live in Georgia and it gets very hot here in the summer.

Sitting in the shade of a old pecan tree was sometimes the only relief from the heat as we did not have an air conditioner. Memories of sitting on the back steps of my mother's home shelling (and eating) pecan nuts are favorite memories. We would sell the nuts around Thanksgiving and the money was used for our Christmas each year. So we always hoped for a good year!

Pecans are delicious. Pecans are used in lots of recipes from sweet pies and candies to salads and always add that elegant distinct flavor to any dish. Lots of animals love them too especially deer and squirrels.

This photo is of the pecan grove at my brother's house taken in August last year. It was a very hot day but under the trees it was so much cooler.

If anyone is interested, I have a little photo contest too. Check it out here

My favorite tree is the araguaney, not only because it is beautiful, but also because it is the emblematic tree of my country Venezuela. I think anyone who sees it would be delighted.

This tree has a height that reaches from 6 to 12 meters. It is slow growing, but long lasting. The trunk is straight, cylindrical and about 60 centimeters in diameter. The roots are deep, so it is very appropriate to beautify gardens, parks, streets and avenues.

Moringa.
moringa 0000001.jpg

This is one of my favorite trees! It is a young Dogwood tree in autumn. There are 50 species of Dogwood and the flowering Dogwood is the state tree of Virginia. I love it because it is a lovely tree that has beautiful flowers in spring and beautiful leaves in autumn. I found this little beauty hiding among some big trees and brush while on a walk in a park. You can't help but stop and admire its delicate beauty!

Coconut tree - My thirst quencher every summer.

For me the Coconut Tree or The Tree Of Life

There is a big difference between the coconut tree, or the so-called "tree of life" in other fruits and trees. Here it can not be thrown away because from leaf to root has its own uses. From the roots it treats pain and so on, and the pit is used to build buildings and houses. Coconut leaves and leaves make decorations and decorations, and of course, the fruit itself as favorite for many. There are different types of coconut trees, from leaf, body, crab, root to fruit. The source is the source of waxed and broom products. The leaves are also used to decorate other households as well as lodging. The fruits also have a variety of uses: the source of oil is its fruit mixed with medicines. The broth is usually applied to those who suffer from sore throat, skin, difficulty in urinating, chickenpox, and so on. The white fruit is also eaten and supplied by protein and other vitamins and minerals. Its ingredients are used in dishes such as porridge. The coconut tree is also called "full of life". Utilizes everything that every part of this tree offers and is one of the natural resources in which the Philippines is rich.

My favorite tree is the coconut called the "tree of Life" because all parts are beneficial. from leaves down to the roots.
coconut roots can be used for beverage dye and medicine purpose. coconut trunk for building purposes, coconut shell for handicrafts and can be used in cooking, coconut husk to obtain coir to be usefor lelastic fiber to make rope, coconut leaves can be use to produce brooms, coconut fruit is full of protein, iyt can also used to make candies latik copra and animal feeds. there are a lot more use of coconut that is why I choose it.

My favorite tree is Pomelo tree.

This tree has the largest citrus fruit in the world. This tree is native in Southeast Asia. In the Philippines, Davao has the most popular and the most delicious produce of this fruit. Like most citrus fruit, pomelos are rich in Vitamin C and can boost the immune system. According to www.hort.purdue.edu, the flowers of this tree are used as aromatic materials for perfume while the wood is also suitable for making tool handles. This tree has numerous medicinal uses as well for epilepsy, chorea, convulsive coughing, swellings and many others.

This tree has some sentimental value for me personally because my husband's first courtship occurred under the Pomelo tree in front of our backyard. :) <3

Afrocarpus gracilior! The Podocarpus. On the slopes of Mt. Elgon where I photographed this one these trees grow into giants! Huge specimens like this one are pretty rare now, becase of their valuble hardwood the are often the first to be felled. The main reason I love these trees is because the huge amount of life they support. Each tree like this is home to thousands of creatures great and small. Aside from supporting their own ecosystem, I find these to be the most stately and grand of all trees!

MORINGA TREE

People like different trees for different reason few of it which maybe because of : its beautiful colour, its sweet fruit, and many more.
My interest in Moringa tree is as a result of my uncle who was an hypertensive patient for about 5years, he had to visit hospital regularly for check up atimes he stays like a week getting treated.

I love Mango Tree because I love mangoes.....and mango is the queen of fruits which is why I love mangoes.

This is a mango tree 🌲 in the University of Uyo, Akwa-Ibom Nigeria.
It's popularly called law garden, but I have always thought 💭 it to be a love garden.
Lots of students uses the tree as a relaxation center, and in wait (when guys are waiting for their babes to come out from the hostel).
One time, twas really raining heavily, I had to stay on one part of the tree as the leaves served as shelter from the rain, till it starts pouring drop by drop 💧.
Sometimes I like to think the tree as that of pocahontars which has some magical power.
😂 😂 😂.

Gonna participate for this hahaha!

Hey @darthnava, Can we post the pic of invisible tree? I'm sure it won't get an invisible upvote. :)

My favourite tree is the willow tree. It's an amazing tree. Every time I've seen knew, it's always close to water. And the way the branches droop down towards the ground is just peaceful. It's like the best shade to use for a picnic. Or if the branches are low enough, a rendezvous 😉
Another thing that may have influenced my love for the willow tree or grandmother willow as I used to call it then was the movie Pocahontas. Grandmother willow was a willow tree as you guessed. And she was always so wise, so peaceful, so gentle, and graceful. She was generally awesome. So anytime I see a willow, I always remember her.

Fun facts about the willow tree

Willow is one of the fastest growing plants in the world.
It has the ability to absorb large quantities of water, and is often planted in flooded areas or areas that need to be drained.
It is used in the production of aspirin.
People chewed bark of the willow tree to treat fever, inflammation and pain in the past.
Willow tree is used in the manufacture of baskets, fishing nets.
