This is the final graphic.. if you find a better one on steemit, tell me (c'mon let me brag around a bit!)

Hoist the colors, proud storytellers!

Oh.. we didn't see a massacre or a scapegoat's butchering, once in a while! With 24 participants, @seesladen awarded by Curie (cheers man!), and some of the best interactions I've seen so far, there's no need to say that this 18th edition of the contest has been one of the most amazing fiction brainstormings that we had so far. But, before passing to the hell's kitchen news, let me remind you.. it's almost time for your blue pill.

What's boiling in the bananafish kitchen (the news!)

  • After weeks of constant work with a professional designer, the contest's brand is ready! Please note that this material is intended for the sole contest's purpose .. I hope you all like the banners and you may use them in the contest and out of it. Especially the banner that you find in the bottom of the page is fit to be used as a footer in your blogs and will instill fear into all your enemies..uh maybe that was Manga Mitokōmon..whatever..

  • @maverickinvictus gave further visibility to the contest through his Steemgigs Contest Channel! Thank you Mav for helping us.. and a big thank you to @lynncoyle and @raj808 too for their precious support too!

  • A toast to you all for the wonderful sense of community that's developing between us. Through this contest, we aim to inspire each other to explore our creativity and push it always further. A creative mind is an alive mind. Cheers!

  • The 500 words limit has been quite understood in its aim. I took deadly seriously every entry and - it's good to repeat it sometimes - my judgment criteria are: first of all, content (which should show originality and capability of going beyond the conventional: if you are asked to choose between two roads, walk out of them in the grass); then, capability of generate emotion in the reader; lastly, a fluent and enjoyable writing style (an excess of elaborate lexicon per se is not a plus, unless it's used for a specific scope.. see @theironfelix in week #17).

  • last but not least, a special thanks to @cyemela who donated me 3 SBI and continues to be a pillar of this initiative! You rock, beat boy.

Alright, let's cut the chatter, brave storytellers, the winners of the 5 @steembasicincome shares are:

@gwilberiol: by popular acclamation, the best contribution in this 18th edition. When I was talking about walking in the grass I was thinking about his story. For those who didn't, I suggest to read it. Not only in the contest's perspective but also because it's a pleasure to be read.

@lynncoyle1: I totally loved her contrarian attitude in transmuting expectation in a disappointing reality through the story unfolding. Demystification of the "nature is beautiful, the city is oppression" clichè, a reflexion on human's nature or both?

@dirge: he gets the 2 SBI, do yourself a favor and read it. I would like to conclude here but it's a bit unfair, hence I will add that he embed true emotions like gems in an alienated and alienating world. The way he portrayed Selena, her reactions, her genuine joy notwithstanding the decaying scenario parading in front of her, the paradoxical elements (the tiger, the HR!).. everything here contributes in giving an original and deep message to the reader.

@nancibrity, @theironfelix, @raj808, @opiman, @cyemela, @marcoriccardi, @maverickinvictus, @jodekss, @flyyngkiwi, @anixio, @seesladen, @nairaurdaneta, @agmoore, @randomwanderings, @blueteddy, @giddyupngo, @oivas, @tristancarax, @brisby, @wonderwop, @pixiehunter: you all did great, keep pushing your creativity to new horizons, not just for the rewards but for being part of this amazing and evolving group of writers!

.. see you all next Wednesday with another story and a rich pot of 4 @steembasicincome shares!

For those that want to join the fun, here is how this contest works:

1. You receive an unfinished fiction story or a script

2. You finish it with your own post or a comment in the comment section. A limit of 500 words is recommended.

3. YOU WIN! 4 @steembasicincome shares to the writers with the best ending.

It's so simple and, most of all, we'll enjoy our fiction ideas!
Nothing is mandatory here, but voting and resteeming is highly appreciated!

Congratulations to all this week's mighty writers. This contest is kicking arse @f3nix See you on Wednesday!

We all kick-ass! Looking forward for another one of your dark humour stories Bruni ✌️😎

Thanks for the praise.

This contest is an ingeniously helpful practice. Starting from the middle of the story provides focus, and the word limit makes the script tight. I wonder how you came up with the formula!

Grazie! By experimenting.. the scope is to unleash creativity at its best. It's possible to write very interesting stuff in 500 words. It's always a matter of quality, not quantity 😉

Thank you so much @f3nix! What an honor to have been chosen; I'm humbled to be in such great company with @gwilberiol and @dirge.

I'm looking forward to the next one :)

Thanks to you PIF girl! The honor is all mine to have you here with us. Your story has been an amazing add to the contest as much as your meaningful comments about life choices. If you know other great steemians, feel free to invite them and see you tomorrow with my own prompt 😉

Thanks again for your kind words and of course for the SBI prize @f3nix! I'll be sure to check out your new prompt too 😂

Each week this contest grows, @f3nix. This week had a very good turnout, so I can imagine the work you had to do. Congratulations to all the winners and especially to you, the father of this creature. See you in the next delivery! A hug

Thank you for your empathy, Nancy. It surely took an amount of time to curate all the endings but it was worth it. Congratulations to you for your stories: also if they require a translation from Spanish, and I know it's not easy for you, they're always a pleasure to be read.

As always, a fair judgement! The contest becomes bigger every week, and I can only imagine the effort to read and judge all the participants!
Thank you @f3nix for being a point of reference of creativity on Steemit!

That's an amazing compliment Marco, thanks for the tip and for being always at my side in doing this! This time it was big and Mrs F3nix raised an eyebrow on me being glued on the desk typing and typing frantically.. as you can very well imagine knowing her :-P

cheers, mighty @f3nix and congrats to the other winners. Thanks for the prompt, @calluna

Woot, yah beat them to the punch and won first place. Ha hargh!

A toast for you Dirgelius Maximus Augustus!

Congratulations to all the winners and many thanks to those that posted their stories! As always, may more come on and may more make great posts! Anywho, we might need more judges just to split up the reading and judging tasks in half! Hue hue hue.

Congrats to us all, this edition has been amazing.. I wonder if you found the multiple-personality virgin for the sacrifice..

I thought ‘twas already sent? Looks like I have to correct Hell again, just give me a second. SATAN YOU BETTER NOT BE IN LUCIFER’S THRONE! IF YOU ARE, I WILL SCREW YOU UP! Well this might take a while, but I will send the sacrificial essence through United Hell Service instead of the Hell’s Postal Service.
