CONTEST RE-CAP:
“What does delegating SP mean to me?”
(paraphrased from my past post on this, see links at bottom)
“The way I view delegating SP is that the person giving their SP is trusting someone else to use part of their ability to upvote. In turn that person is helping to curate, hopefully substantial [quality] content. Since good is subjective I'd rather not use that word here to describe the content that is to be upvoted. And why I have put the word quality in [brackets] above.
Upvoting in essence shouldn't [only] be viewed as a way to give someone rewards in the form of money. The monetary value could perhaps be seen as an incentive to create more substantial content.
If and when I do delegate SP to someone as a result of this contest, it is by no means requiring them to automatically upvote my content. If that was the case I would keep the SP for myself. I would hope that the person is interested in my content and would do so willingly and sincerely. However, I'm more interested in active participation and actually engaging with anyone following me or happening to come across my content.
Having said that, I'm not just going to give my SP to anyone. I will elaborate more on that below. But I'm ultimately looking for Steemians that are like-minded and have the same interests. So they would by default want to interact with my content. Again receiving upvotes is NOT the ultimate goal nor is it a requirement.”
Here’s a view from inside Calatrava's Oculus. As always, photos are mine unless otherwise stated. Enjoy.
Concept
Delegate SP to someone that follows me and actively interacts with me. They don't have to like or even upvote my content. I'm just looking for someone who follows me because they actually enjoy my content or are actively engaging with my content, whether positively or not. Obviously no downvoting my dope content though!
How to participate?
(“the rules”)
So first and foremost this is my SP and my rules. So while I will try to be as objective as possible, I will ultimately be choosing the recipient of my SP using my own subjective opinion and judgement, after they have met the following criteria:
- Must be actively following me.
- Must comment (substantially) on any two of my previous posts.
Pick two past posts of mine that interest you. And make a comment on it. This doesn't mean say hi or good job sir. So choose the post wisely or make your response good enough so that it gets noticed and is engaging. Also if you're already an active follower and feel like a past comment of yours fulfills this, then it can be submitted as an entry in this category. Feel free to make a new post in reference to mine if you want something to post about (just be sure to submit it so that I see it.) - Must comment (substantially) on two of my upcoming new posts.
The same guidelines apply here as described above in Item 2 above. I'm going to leave this open for a week or two, so be patient if you don't see a post of mine that engages you. - If selected, must remain active and engage my content.
Pick at least two posts a week and comment something substantial on it. If you truly are not inspired by or interested in anything I've posted that week, let me know! Explain what is lacking or what I should be doing that would keep you engaged. Otherwise, maybe it's time we part ways...
How to “enter”?
Reply to this thread, showing that all of the above criteria are met. Either all at once or as they are completed.
What’s the timeframe / duration of delegation?
I haven't determined what the time frame should be. It could be indefinite depending on a lot of factors. If the person fails to meet the criteria then they would automatically get the SP revoked. Keep in mind that it takes about 5 days for the delegator (me) to get their SP back -so it’s not like I’m just handing out free oxygen- the revoking of SP from the delegatee (you) is immediate though. ps I'm open to increasing the number of Steemians that I delegate SP to and/or the amount of SP depending on how lucrative this potentially becomes.
How does the winner get chosen?
Calling upon the insight and guidance of Zeus and Odin (and sweet baby Jeus) I will be selecting the participant that best reflects the ideals of the @hrissm steemβlog style. If you have interacted with me in the past you’ll understand. And once you begin to interact with me more in the future you will begin to understand tenfold.
Ignorance is shunned and enlightenment is welcome.
If you don’t understand ask a question. If you don’t want to understand, please politely and quietly gtfo.
disclaimer(s)!
This is more for entry level STEEMians as I’m only delegating away a small amount of SP 50-100, but all are welcome to participate. Feel free to UPVOTE and RESTEEM this to increase participation. ALSO, I’ll be monitoring the activity of the winner, sorry not sorry, hashtagbigbrother hashtagzeusodin. If at any point the winner does something that I simply don’t like, depending on what it is, I will be potentially revoking the delegation of SP and potentially without warning. I’m an imperfect human so I’m subject to impulsive and emotion. Please forgive me in advance. I’m also not your average human so I’m prone to reason and logic as well, so fear not. I’d like for you to understand why I’m doing something as opposed to me simply doing that thing because I like to.

As always thanks for reading and interacting

And last but not least thanks to the best-of-the-rest-of-you. Y’all know who you are!

Hi there. Looks like i stumbled upon something over here. I like your approach of things, sounds cocky hehe. This single post made me follow you, and i'm curious whether i like your past, present or future posts. I want to mention that i don't want to enter this SP delegation game, but i will do engage with the posts you present as it feels you're from a similar dough as i am. If you'd wish to delegate SP, or transfer some steem as a sign of appreciation, i'd gladly accept it.
But i'd rather not have it if my engagement would be tied by the fact that i received SP from you. I may engage and comment on more than 2 of your posts and i may write essays at times as comments; so if you feel this contradicts your standards please kindly mention it, but don't downvote me. I'm here to offer a fresher approach to the community through my own simple way of the rule of making good without waiting something in return, raise awareness about simple and more complex day-to-day things, and engage deeper with people .
I like the Brooklyn bridge picture uploaded in here, showing the strength a bunch of metal and concrete can have altogether; but also bridges metaphorically mean to me the connection between 2 people, that bridges knowledge, compassion, and further interaction. I find this quite important nowadays where, the world seems to be more and more divided. Mmm looks like we need more bridges now more than ever.
Btw, do you know what was the first name for the Brooklyn bridge? Let's see what you come up with hehe . Cheers

If you read my reasons for SP delegation it shouldn’t be interpreted as cocky. But I can’t control your perception I can only attempt to shape it. The point is to reward someone, who enjoys my content and doesn’t have a lot of SP or VP as a result. I remember when I first joined and I wanted to upvote content because I liked it and I felt like I wasn’t contributing or making an impact because the even a full upvote amounted to zero.
And of course participation is for those who want to participate. I’m not forcing anyone to take part in it. So I respect your decision. But if someone chooses to participate then they need to play the game by its rules.
I wouldn’t downvote unless people are spamming, or being hateful, or outright negative - things of that nature. Constructive criticism is always welcome as long as there is some kind of logical reasoning that we can agree to disagree on.
Bridges can def. be metaphorical and can be personified, like the saying: don’t burn your bridges.
I don’t know what the first name of the Brooklyn bridge was and don’t have time to google it before hitting “post”. Please feel free to enlighten me!

Yes, i understand and i read your post. Well, i do enjoy your content and more i enjoy having someone i can comment with in the comment section. If that qualifies, then i would appreciate your SP delegation.
The Brooklyn Bridge (which was the first steel-wire suspension bridge constructed at that time), was originally called the New York and Brooklyn Bridge and the East River Bridge. Later on, it was dubbed as The Brooklyn bridge by the Brooklyn Daily Eagle ( a daily newspaper published in the city); and in about 1915 the government formally named it like this as well.

It just so happens that I was in a rather random office earlier today while at another building for work... and on someone’s wall was a drawing of the Brooklyn bridge. And below it was written: East River Bridge.
