So do comments to earn the 1 point have to be different from the comment to register a wallet address?

Any comment is fine. Just to encourage engagement. My program scans for $GRC$ flag so i can manually payout to the address user provided. And it assigns 1 point for anyone who commented.
Frankly I'd love people to post some interesting thing, like why do they like or support either of the projects. Anything, that would help the community to learn about the projects and engage.
I should probably update the description to highlight that. When i have time..
But yeah, i do not analyze and score the content of comments, and would love to stay away from that.

Thanks for clearing that up.
May I ask how you wrote the program that runs the contest? I'm also a programmer and I'm interested in the idea of a STEEM bot. If you can recommend an API or tutorial of some sort that would be great.

I was actually going to write a post about that but didn't have time.. In short I used a library Ditch.Steem (not the best documentation) to pull data from and to post my contests to Steemit. The rest of the logic I've written in F#. Hopefully I'll find some time to write up about my journey. In the meantime if you have questions, feel free to ask.
