In the past, only a handful of large corporations have possessed the logistical prowess needed to solve substantial AI problems. This is because they are set up with two things:
ACCESS TO UNSPEAKABLE AMOUNTS OF MONEY
ACCESS TO MASSIVE (and willing, and free) POPULATION SAMPLES TO TRAIN AI
Let's look at some examples of how these online moguls have put their AI efforts to good use:
Corporation | AI Task |
---|---|
Basic "newsfeed" and "friends" suggestions to make user experience feel intimate | |
Amazon | Product prompts tailor shopping and make customer feel valued and unique |
Apple/Android | Texting prompts "learn" from user's speech patterns so autofill becomes intuitive and natural for the user |
Facial and item recognition software enables user to identify individuals, places, and text images with incredible accuracy--putting law enforcement software to shame | |
Ebay | "Image Search" phone app allows customers to search for products by taking pictures or using existing ones on their phones, to find similar listings on Ebay |
The end result?
A Happy Customer!
Happy customer =
- Higher satisfaction for the user
- More interaction and loyalty in the user base
- More money for the corporation.
And this is just the business side. There are countless beneficial applications for AI in the real world that we might take for granted, such as with healthcare prevention and treatment, crime prevention, fraud prevention, terrorist detection, self-driving cargo vehicles, and so on.
Only the MONOLITHS and limited sectors of the government have been able to create (or take advantage of) this kind of AI product....
...until now. Enter Effect.AI
Our project introduces an open, decentralized network that provides services in the Artificial Intelligence market. The project is called The Effect Network.
Some incredible minds have come together to create an other-worldly product for every-day business owners and developers. The product is called Effect.AI, and it is less a product and more a network for other great minds to come together. Names like
- Legendary entrepreneur and blockchain tech giant Charlie Shrem
- Lawyer and Economist Steven Deurloo
- Blockchain and AI guru Tony Tran
- "Disruptive Technologist" Sally Eaves
bring to this platform their own areas of expertise and innovation to make a masterpiece for the masses.
Watch this quick video on how these great minds plan to bring costs down and Increase Integration
Here's what they've done. By integrating engineers, products, computations, human training, and job bids into one place--a decentralized NEO blockchain--then fueling transactions with a network NEP-5 token, the Effect Network resolves the common roadblocks of AI development:
- money (needed to pay AI developers and run computation algorithms)
- large human sample groups (needed to train the AI)
- transparency (needed to integrate the most popular computations)
Removing these roadblocks makes the technology more readily available to the average developer and business owner, while also creating more jobs for Mechanical Turks and developers alike.
How Effect.AI is going to change the way AI development works
PHASE 1-Mechanical Turk--(The "building" phase):
The first phase of The Effect Network will be a platform for Developers to present their AI data for further training, using popular deep learning frameworks like Caffe, MXNet, and Tensor flow. Mechanical Turks will take the data provided and work out the problems aimed at a specific outcome. Once the outcome is reached, the data will be available to the developer to iron out the AI and present their new product or app to the marketplace.
Requests from developers will be free of charge in the early stages, allowing them to pay turks substantially more for quality work. Effect.AI will not be charging the 40% markup that Amazon charges, so listing a task in the future will cost developers considerably less money.
PHASE 2-Smart Market--(The "dating" phase):
The second phase of The Effect AI will be the marketplace meetup, where businesses and individuals come to buy AI services, developers come to sell their products or request turking services to train and develop their AI's, and turkers come to get work by training developers' data. Think of it as an online dating site for businesses, and developers. They will be able to view one another's services and see if someone is a good fit for what they are looking for. Users will have ratings for good product development or good business interaction (think Ebay and Amazon ratings), and there will be a central place to publish applications (think the Google App Store).
Anyone in the world with interest or expertise in this field will be able to interact--all on a blockchain using a cryptocurrency. Developers will be paid in NEP tokens, and through the Effect Network, they will have access to the population and computation power needed to train their AI algorithms. Developers are happy. Businesses are happy. End users are happy. And Effect Network is happy.
PHASE 3-Power--(The "AI Cloud" phase):
The last phase of Effect AI will combine the computational power of all AI that has been developed through this network, and will move it forward by distributing it globally on multiple servers via the blockchain. Excess computing power will yield a supercomputer or cloud platform for all of the information to be stored, eliminating any one point of weakness.
Developers can connect their algorithms to compatible existing algorithms, or join efforts with other developers.
The Social and Economic impact of a decentralized mechanical turk
Putting the power of AI in the hands of the many leaves some with a feeling of uneasiness--there might be more opportunity for abuse of power and information. However, Effect.AI could not disagree more. Leaving this kind of "power" in the hands of only a few perpetuates several problems. It limits the common public from having a say in how their information is shared, it creates an unhealthy co-dependency between user and corporation, where only the corporation wins in the end, and it creates a gap in innovation by eliminating a populace of gifted individuals who might otherwise be able to accomplish great things.
Individuals and groups can all benefit from Effect.AI Website
This is a hub to bring together all the greatest minds in the world, from businessman to humanitarian alike. There is no limit to what we might accomplish. Opening day for the Initial Coin Offering is March 24th, 2018. You are about to make a difference!

Great piece of work.
I've heard about effect.ie and I would also love to hear what do you think about DBC (Deepbrain Chain) and Singularity. How those two look comparing to effect.ie in your opinion?
Im personally quite bullish on DBC (mostly because DBC is related to NEO) and I hope to hear what do you think about this coin.
I will be following you closely.
One more time: great piece of work

DBC looks quite similar in practice and application, with one major difference: Effect seems to focus on the low-cost use of mechanical turkers, while DBC appears to place its focus on the mining of the coin and flexible computing to protect the nodes. Both are good. Both do both.
Aren't they supposed to be porting over to NEO very soon?
As far as coins go. I trade top 6 and Steem, that's it. BTC, Lite, Ether, EOS. I don't really watch coins. But I do think the AI scene is a fantastic place to generate some. And I'm curious if I should be getting into it at some point.
As per singularity, I take Elon Musk's concerns fairly seriously. I think there definitely is a hazard there, as the only constraint we have is the output constraint, barring stupidity, of course. However, I'm not sure I agree with a cerebral download. It's interesting in theory. But I have some personal views against tampering with humanity like that. I also do not believe robots will take over the world.....I don't think.

What an amazing reply. You just got yourself loyal follower.
Im lately crazy about AI and Im investing mostly in this field. To be honest - Im scared how AI can be used to control population and I see 2 scenarios:
AI market will not develop (and then I wont really have to worry about future of mainkind). In that case I will end up losing part o my investment.
AI will dominate every step of our live within next several years (definetly before I will get retired) and then I at least I will also benefit.
So Im trying to figure out potential leaders in this industry. Apart od DBC, AGI and Effect.ai - do you know if there is any other crypto that has anything to do with AI?
ps.
You mentioned "Elon Musk concerns". What do you mean?
I would love to hear your point of view. I also dont think robots will take over the world. But I believe they will change social structures even more than mobile devices did. Plus unemployement will grow most likely a lot. And for many people that's going to be "end of the world as they knew it".
Thank you so much for your time and effort.

Yes, unemployment will be an issue--for awhile. But it's just another hump in human development, just like the Industrial Revolution when everything became mechanized and manufactured by machines, people adjusted to the needs of the economy. They'll do it again. And frankly, there won't be much adjusting needed in the workforce with regard to anyone born after 1990, as the turn of the century brings with it a new breed of zombies....ahem, I mean humans, who can compute and process and assimilate programming languages and applications far better than any other generation combined.
These kiddos can handle it.
Paradoxically, though, they will be a large contributor to their own potential demise. But, as I said, they can handle their own monsters. I like to think we'll be OK. One thing hoomans have that robots don't is resilience of spirit, flexibility in social structure, and adaptation to catastrophe and calamity. No matter how trained an AI is, it will never have those three things, as closely as we like to think they'll mimic it.
I do think you are covered on all angles, though. You've got an investment if AI takes over the world, and if it doesn't, at least you're not going to be eaten by a robot!
Oh--Elon Musk is an avid proponent of AI development, but in the same breath, he's fiercely terrified of it. He's worried we're going to be trampled by our own creations some day. So he's been thinking up a cerebral download to link our brains to the digital interface called the world.
I think it's a bunch of hogwash. But he's something of an idol of mine, and even hogwash sounds doable when he talks about it.
