Steemit has been rising through the ranks of top websites at an astounding rate. It took not up to 2 years to scale up from tens of thousands to one thousand. What I mean here, 2 years back steemit was at 20,000 or so on Alexa while today, we have it within the first one thousand. What this means to the platform is that, the amount of engagement and contributions are adding and helping the site grow.

With the above I'll say congratulations to all, the whales and early investors especially. Your indelible work surely pays. And I call on all members to keep pushing. The sky will definitely be our starting point because I believe what is to come will surely be greater than what passed.

A look at alexa ranking.

Alexa is an Amazon.com company based in California. It tracks and shares to the public the frequency of visits and pageviews of certain Web sites. This considers the amount of traffic recorded over a period of three months.

From the above we can see steemit at 997 globally, and 1184 in USA. the rank improved 731 positions within the last three month.

Visitors by country

The above shows the top five countries with the highest percentage of visitors. United States of America has the highest at 26.4%, then followed by South Korea at 10.3%, India at 6.4%, United Kingdom at 4.6% and Germany at 4.4%.

User engagement on the site

The user engagements shows a 53.40% bounce rate, this means there is a 50/50 chance of someone staying on the site to read the content that took him there or him moving away (closing it). Then the daily pageviews per visitor at 3.22 and daily time spent, about 5+ hours which in my opinion is not that bad considering that some bulk percentage of users view steemit at home, and staying at home for someone with responsibilities is a luxury in this age of bills, bills and more bills.

Visitors and keywords

This shows a 29.3% visitors are sent from search engines and the top 5 keywords sending traffic to steemit.

Overall, I think Steemit is doing pretty, though needs more, for a site not up to 5 years in existence. The above metrics shows how keywords, quality contents and news worthy materials help to rank steemit in search engine results.
