You guys had some amazing photos last time and we are on to Week 12 now!
It should be apparent that @papa-pepper really enjoys plants and animals, so what better photography contest could I run than one where others get to photograph plants and animals together, in some combination photography?
EXAMPLES
Before I get into who won the contest last week, I’ll quickly share with you again what I am looking for by featuring some photos of mine. In the cover photo, I combined a leaf from a tree and a Little Brown Skink.
First off, by combination photography I mean that you should combine two elements; plants and animals. At least one plant and at least one animal should be featured in your photo to have it qualify. Here are two examples.
Besides simply providing the images, I also require that those entering this contest provide a proof photo as well. Two main versions of proof photos exist. One kind features the same combination of plants & animals with a written paper in the photo with your username, the date, contest name, etc. to prove that you took the photo for the contest.
The other type of proof is just a selfie with the animal and plant. Here are my examples for the photos featured above.
Based on the proof photos there should be no doubt in your mind that I actually took the photos I shared above.
WEEK 11 WINNERS!
Choosing the winners is always tough for me, but I have finally made my decisions. The Winner gets 50% of the liquid post payout from the Week Eleven Post and the two runner ups each get 12.5% of the same.
THE WINNER
@carine1988
11 SBD
FIRST RUNNER UP
@dhaneshpk
5.5 SBD
SECOND RUNNER UP
@micika987
5.5 SBD
You have all done amazing with your entries to this contest, and I appreciate the effort. Also, though the official way to enter this contest is by including your entry photo and the proof photo in a reply to my post, I strongly encourage others to make an actual post featuring their entry as well.
Even if you do not win the contest, you could still get something for your effort if you turn it into a post as well. @Matthewtiii once hit the jackpot on a post about his contest entry. His post paid out at over $200 total while he has trying to win 5 STEEM, LOL! Link here.
ON TO WEEK 12!
By now you should have a clue about what this contest is and how to enter, but here are the official rules just to make sure. Enjoy, and I am looking forward to seeing what you can come up with.
HERE ARE THE OFFICIAL RULES:
- Photo entries must be placed in the reply/comment section of this post.
- Submissions may also be made into posts, but it is not necessary.
- A proof photo will also be required. This can be in the form of a selfie with the subjects from the photos or in the form of your username written on a piece of paper in a photo, etc. Basically, you must prove the originality of your work. Therefore, your entry comment should include two photos.
- Users have between now and the time of the post payout to enter this contest.
- I will personally select one winner to award half of the liquid SBD payout from this post to and two runner ups who will each get 25% of the same.
- Enter as many times as you like!
- Depending on the interest in this contest, I may have it be ongoing.
- By entering you are giving me full permission to use your entries as I see fit.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure to include both your entry photo and proof photo in your reply.
TL;DR
If you reply to this post with a photo of a plant and animal together and include a proof photo before the post payout from this post, you may win a portion of the post payout.
LET THE 12TH WEEK OF THE CONTEST BEGIN!!!

Amazing photo's, interesting how lizards and snakes are so similar except for the legs on the lizards.

Snakes evolved from lizards. In fact, snakes still have little bones in them that used to be legs but now don't protrude anymore.

He is Zimba a labrador, a rare breed with 15% more the size of the normal one and he weighs around 56 kg. His origin is from U.K and lives in Kerala, India
He is little naughty and always want to play around us. He grabs the sandals, chappal and shoes , wants us to chase him down. He grabs attention whenever we move around with him.

The photos reminds me of the need to preserve our natural heritage, especially those species that faces the risk of extinction. Nice concept. Thanks for initiating.

Entry Week 12:
On Thanksgiving Day the temperature was 90 degrees in The Mojave Desert where I came across 2 honey bees battling for nectar on a purple pansie! The honey bees around the area were quite active trying to collect the last drops of nectar before winter arrives in the high desert. It’s good to see so many bees busy at work because their population has been threatened over the last decade or so due to unknown environmental causes!

I've been in a bit of a winter hibernation here and not taking many photos. I got out today though to feed the birds as they really need it this time of year. Like this female blackbird - waiting on the frosty hedge.
By the time I'd got dressed and gone out to take the verification the pretty frost had all melted!
The starlings also found the fat balls today. Many people are negative about starlings because they're messy and noisy but I find them beautiful and love their diverse calls and chatter.
and verification....
Then I noticed this little guy struggling in an old spider's web. I put him on our sage bush and spent half an hour or more removing the web off his leg and wings. He wasn't aggresive or trying to get away from me as I carefully used two tiny twigs and finally tweezers to remove the web. Then he sat in the sun and began grooming - cleaning his long antennae with his front legs. I love watching insects do this!
I was quite smitten with this little wasp!
