day Ten (wow how time flies) M.O.L.A.A. molaaspaingaroo daily love and steem dollar giveaway

today's contest post.

here is an example of what I often do too. Coming across some lines of text somewhere that really speak to me, I'll write them down in my block to always have them.

you can see three examples here today, although only two are credited. The other one must be mine I suppose.

"there's one sad truth in life I've found
while journeying East and West.
The only folks we really wound are those we love the best.
We flatter those we scarcely know.
We please the fleeting guest.
and deal full many a thoughtless blow
to those who love us best"
Ella Wheeler Wilcox
1850 - 1919 Author and poet.

This rips my heart out and stomps on it, right in front of my surprised face, going "there, take that"!!
but that'd be little old me

and on the other page,

"I sometimes feel I have nothing to say,
I often want to communicate this"
Damian Hirst (needs no introduction)

What a vapid specimen of a man and artist is our Damien.
But he's rich and I am still right here.

"I often feel I have something to say,
I never want to communicate this"
El bicho (yours truly)

Now that's genius! Even if I have to note it myself :)

And then in Spanish is written

"Estamos aquí para enriquecer, no para enriquecernos"
"We are here to enrich, not to get rich"

which is my philosophy. I think I came out with that line in a chat on skype, and wrote it down to remember it. Maybe it comes from somewhere else, but I think it's mine.

You can see a couple of notes to self too. can be summarised as get your act together

and a few pattern ideas too

the one I put up the other day is very similar to this pattern,
the_great_forgetting_small.jpg

The Great Forgetting drawing by @spaingaroo in BiC biro

but separated. There are works like the page here. I'll look for a couple

and this ugly fugly

piel_smal.jpg

drawing by @spaingaroo in BiC biro on glossy foto paper

As you see it was on a sheet of heavy gloss foto paper, and it's one of only two that I ever did on that surface. Horrid.
be alright for liquid mediums or brush pens maybe, but for biro, it sucks.

Enough from me for today, don't forget, your work does not have to be visual in nature. Writing is fine and poetry too.
All I ask is that do create something in response to something you see or feel in my sketchbook page.
If you have an already existing work that you think is perfect, well, you only to give a little justification speech and you are fine.

But connect in some way with me and my work please

for the rules and regulations you can go here https://steemit.com/molaaspaingaroo/@spaingaroo/m-o-l-a-a-molaaspaingaroo-long-post-to-serve-as-permalink-for-rules-and-regs.

The sky is the limit.

your creations remain your work. Post, and then comment here and link. Use the tag molaaspaingaroo.

Good writing

make something for my contest @praju-starlet, it's open to you

I hope you will think about it

Nice comeback on the Damien Hirst quote, @spaingaroo!

I may be tempted to agree with your quote more though. Maybe that's why Damien is rich and famous... just Damien Hirst, and we're here on Steemit? ;)

The Ella Wheeler Wilcox quote is quite profound, I must admit.

I remember being struck by it, and I was again when I saw it today.
I scanned this book the other day, but almost without really looking at it.

I am seeing each page fresh each day.

best way
thanks for your ongoing support @marty-art
did you know there is a @marty-arts too

I just saw her(?) work today, thought it was you at first.

anyhow, out of time as usual

Hey,
weird how we can rediscover our past drawings and musings :)

I just found @marty-arts yesterday too, haha, was a bit strange to see. But I actually like her work. Take care, man!

she seems pretty groovy yes, I think I put her off by immediately jumping in with a (constructive) criticism
but hopefully she will understand
I invited her to come by.

Wow, lot's of detailed patterns here. Eye boggling!

Could you please give deadlines for entries in the daily sketchbook challenge? I just finished planning and started my entry for day seven then suddenly realised it might close before I finish. I know you list them but just to be sure, the close date would confirm.

the date of post payout @deemarshall , so you have plenty of time for number seven by my calculations. I'm going to check.

well, plenty of time no, you have today and tomorrow more or less, I'm pretty flexible I think I still have to payout six, that'll be tomorrow / later tonight

I am losing track a little
but the upshot is, get number seven in, you are still in time

I'll try and make it clearer in tomorrow's post.

Thank you. I won't get it done in time so I'm now working on day 11. I can spend Sunday doing it. Sorry to muck you about.

no wuzzas lovey, you are not causing me any distress at all.

(I hear that's acceptable aussie speak so just keep myself in practise)

big hugs, so you can see by the post payout the deadline more or less.

have fun
