What is the Deadpost Intitiative?

The Deadpost Initiative is an attempt to give love to some posts that were overlooked during their short 7 day life span, a chance to bring your old posts back to life and maybe make some friends in the process. The goal is not only to share some love with SBD but also by engagement to generate discussion.

Last week

This past week we had many introspective posts that examined what drives us, in writing, in life, in dreaming. It's interesting to see how some weeks seem to be about a particular theme and this is one I personally love to read about. I have to apologize for the delay on this post, I've been quite busy with 3D stuff, but hopefully it was worth the weight. We should have more consistent payouts above $7 SBD from now on, super ultra thanks to @kennyskitchen for offering an extra upvote every week from @tribesteemup for this post. Also thanks to @krnel for some delegation, I will be more careful to upvote a few great submission comments with that.

Last Week's Winners

—-

@alignment - $3 SBD prize

This is a concept that I am very much interested in and one whose time has come. We fill our minds with crap and rather than trying to cover it with more crap, we might as well clean it up and get rid of what doesn't serve us. Very great article by @alignment, someone to follow on steemit.

Introduction to unlearning and why it is critical for personal growth. Why is it as important as learning?

—-

@fjmb86 - $2.5 SBD prize

This was another great one. As most of us are content creators here, it's really interesting to ask ourselves and others "What motivates us to do what we do". I was expecting a rather simplistic article from the title but this is a pretty nice analysis that uses some ideas from George Orwell. Great post @fjmb86!

Why I write

—-

@antigenx - $1 SBD prize

@antigenx provides a kind of guide to those who are not sure what they are doing here on this planet. Thanks for the tips.

Finding your purpose in life- A short recap.

—-

@liverussian - $1 SBD prize

Is pet poetry a thing? This is the second winner of the Deadpost Initative in this genre! It's a great post though, nice winning streak @liverussian.

I had not heard of a string of holistic care providers being killed. Could you share links to some of those news reports?

Congratulations to the winners. Here is my contribution for this week
https://steemit.com/shareinspireconquer/@cheekah/overcome-that-hate

I agree people, especially young people, are too quick to throw around the word “hate” when they really mean dislike. I also agree that when we identify something that needs to be changed, it is useless to just complain about; do something or find the right people to do something to effect change. I also agree that too many of us remain stagnated in hatred and do not examine the real root causes.

However, You point out several examples of when someone “hated” something and it motivated them to invent something to bring change. I have to say I think that’s an over simplification of the motivations for inventors. The sad truth is, for most humans, taking action on their hatred leads to horrors perpetrated against fellow humans. History is rife with horrific events, like genocide, that were fueled by unchecked haty.

What we need to do when faced with hate, is to find out the real reasons behind it. Those reasons always include fear, and almost always presumes a sense of superiority and societal privilege, and a set pervasive self-imposed delusions that their hate is justified or even scientifically or religiously supported. Real hatred is, in my estimation, a mental illness and requires substantive and qualified psychiatric care, as well as intensive education.

Most humans are afraid. The fear of what they hate spurs them to create horror. Why don't we find something positive about the object of our hatred and bring something good out of it. Thanks for your comment.

I agree. But, the folks who hate have not been taught the tools of critical thinking to permit them to find the positive in what they’ve learned to hate. They’ve grown up and lived lives enveloped in fear of the other. It will take far more than us just showing them the positive in others. They’ve been programmed to believe their hatred is right – even ordained. It will take reprogramming to change that, and that means psychiatric and/or psychological treatment. It also means teaching critical thinking to kids from the time they start school, truly educating them rather than just teaching to the tests.

Awesome post! I feel the same with people. Why would people hate so much and do nothing about it? If you hate it that much why shouldn't you prevent it in the future by changing something or at least try to change it and see what happens. I see so much people hating each other and just wasting time and energy on the hate when they instead can just transform the time and energy into something positive for all of us. I am not saying hate is not necessary. Hate should be used only to identify where to change the game. The aspect of the game. You hate for example the president, so assassinate him. I am just kidding, but you get the point. Stop the hate and start the change.

Thanks for helping motivate and enlighten people. The world needs more people like you.

I really liked this post, it was very empowering.

Remember what you said in your post. You said that nothing is random so here I am expressing that this is not a random reply from a random stranger. Anyways you are right about that. No man is an island an entire in itself...

Wise words and sage advice:

Every second you receive a gift. That gift is to live. How you use it depends on yourself.
You will fail a lot …trying to be somebody …make mistakes. …learn from them …you should not even think about succeeding when you start something. Because it won't happen in the near future. Your goal should be to improve yourself with each day. Step by step. Until you finally reach your goal.

Your post is my favorite so far. I'm a strong believer that the universe doesn't make mistakes. Following for sure.

I never thought of using those techniques.

I hope you've learned something new from my article :)

Thanks i learned something new. I'm going to try to make a blackout poem from newspapers.

Check out my post about a recent pencil drawing "Akasha";) It took me many years to complete it, and it was created entirely in surrender for the sound::: https://steemit.com/art/@astraeir/akasha-pencil-drawing

Your art is amazing. You most certainly are a pencil dancer. Please keep making more like that. I would love to see some in color too. I'll be watching your etsy.

Thank you so much!;) yes, of course! I keep them coming! check out my Tumblr for more pieces in color: http://katiastraeirart.tumblr.com You can find more on my FB and Instagram. I need to create the new website soon!

Fantastic work. Astraeir. So glad I checked it out:)

Thank's so much for taking your time to explore!;)

Routine is comfortable, even when it’s a routine of depredation. We get into the flow of “the way things are” and resist change. Maybe that’s because we’ve learned to fear that change may mean loss. But, we cannot stop change from coming into every life. Life is change.

Isn’t it confusing and frustrating how so many folks take creationism literally rather than seeing it for the collection of allegories it must be. For example, I cannot think of a more elegant allegory for the Big Bang than “And God said, ‘Let there be light.’”

Your post is only 16 days old. I think it needs to be a month or older. I enjoyed the post though, very informative and eloquent. I'll make sure to follow.

Oh, a thousand apologies, I read wrong: / I thought it should be less than 1 month.
Can I still participate, with a post longer than 1 month? Obviously eliminating this entry.

An incredible vista.

Here is my contribution about my life in a nutshell. A journey that is still in progress, https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@mariusclaassen/samech-coming-full-circle

Thanks for teaching me something new. I respect your self determination and love for your family. Welcome to steemit. I wish you the best of luck.

@thedonfreeman, Thanks for the wishes

I hope your journey leads you to fulfillment and prosperity.

Intersting essay. Does using cold storage mean the value does not increase or decline?

It increases and declines in terms of fiat value while the Litecoin is not going to fluctuate plus you hold the private keys.

I agree with the main thrust of your essay, that we have to try and try our best with all our personal resources. However, I think it’s important too to recognize what your real talents are and to cultivate those, rather than trying to be mediocre at anything else.

Yes we have to arrange regularly all the talents possessed for all the activities we want to try to exclude the talent they have

Hey sir ! That's my one of most time consuming fiction, from the day, I joined steemit.
Can any gentleman , give me some advice ?
But, I loved that story. It is very different but, it won't run good.😧😢😭

The story has possibilities. Unfortunately, the layout and grammar and spelling and punctuation are problematic. I recommend you have a professional edit it, or rewrite it in your native language.

Thank you :) mam, I was waiting for an honest advice.

Please mam! Could you do me another favour:)

This was my link , I participated @averageoutsider

It is very short. Could you give me another last time advice!!

I apologize, for this mam! Here, is this... Please mam ! It won't take your much time...

I read your post. I’m sorry, but my advice is the same. If you’re going to write in English, you need an editor with native-language fluency in English to correct your writing before you post it.

Thank you mam!! Well, it had been a long time I didn't practiced in English. I just solve objective type of questions in biology , physics and chemistry..
I remembered my school days, when teacher scolded me , when I ask them to check my grammar....
Finding an editor is a hard task..
I have to practice more and more, memorizes them more and more...

Haha,. ..That picture is not so terrific..

Perhaps you should invest in a good English grammar textbook. The Little Brown Handbook is the resource I would recommend. There’s also Grammarly.com online.

Some really great photography, AOW. Ice can be a real creative gift for sure:)

Nature is magical and you buddy just showed an awesome side of winter. Winter is the best season for photography. And the best season in general in my opinion. Great shots. Cheers.

Here’s my submission, entitled, “Be The Rain”
https://steemit.com/poetry/@momzillanc/be-the-rain

nice composition, not sure tho if that's a longing for rain or a expression of inevitability of rain... or perhaps fascination of it's cyclicality and persistence - as basis to 'being it' ?

The poem is encourages the reader to be persistent and find the ways in and around what would hinder us, to be inevitable change that cannot be contained – as the rain is inevitable and cannot be contained. “Be the rain.”

The mountain will be reduced to sandy shore. . .
Still the rain will fall.

Be the rain.

A divine piece of inspiration contained in this great poem:) Wonderful work, Denise:)

Thanks so much, Pryde!

Thank you so much for this opportunity and your work and support is really appreciable. Please find my piece below.

Wishing you an great day and stay blessed. 🙂

Thanks for raising awareness for an important issue. Respect.

Welcome and thank you so much for your thoughts. Stay blessed. 🙂

Yes, old age should not be treated as a curse or burden on the young. Age has much to teach us from it’s experience and acquired wisdom.

That's true. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

You’re welcome. I’d appreciate an upvote for my submission too. Thanks.

Welcome. 🙂

strange but cool.

Thank you. 🙂

"Like most things in my Life, I didn't full realize what was really going on and what was to unfold, and how perfect Satorid was for me." I would like to share The Untold Story of SatoriD for deadpost this week.

You’ve shared an interesting bio in your essay on how you came to the nom de plume of “SatoriD.”

NOTE: I recommend you give more careful attention to the correct grammar of your written works.

Thanks

Really amazing initiative that you have here. Its awesome because for many authors, I think its a good motivation for the hard work that they put in. Keep it up!

Hello! Long time no see. Lol. Can I still enter? Should I wait for the next one? :D
