WE-Write! Partner Up! - A time loop - Short tale

in contest •  5 years ago  (edited)

Hi everybody:

This is my entry in the wewrite free writing contest, by @zeldacroft and @freewritehouse, this time by @mariannawest.Link.

The story will be made as PartnerUp, between two writing partners who, in my case, is the good writer of Steemit @aduragbemi. This time, I start and he finishes, according to Option 3, The Prompt to be used will be that of a daily freewrite.

A time loop

The old photos made him aware of his age, how much time had passed and the solitary life he had to live only interesting for a scientist, researcher of quantum physics.

Life and the stovetop knew that it had not given up, because each restart of the time loop gave way to a Christmas with freshly baked cookies, the dinner, and enough magic to revive the family reunion.

It seemed like a dream he had just woken up from, or a nightmare lived as a drip of pre-set time, repeated incessantly. Every Christmas he has them and every Christmas she loses them. This time he would change history, he would change the routine, he would not live the repeated moment when he lost his family for not seeing the signs of an imminent collapse of the quantum state.

This would be one more but at the same time a new one. This time I wouldn't play the macabre game, this year I would face it. He was old, he would no longer participate in that annual holographic meeting, that time loop he failed to solve despite his attempts.

(End of five minutes)

"Tomorrow is Christmas, but I won't cook. This time I won't turn on the stovetop that seems to be the click that summons them every year, and I'll see what happens."

Yes maybe if he just doesn't cook they won't come and be lost. The time loop could give a happier ending that he relives over and over. What a nightmare this one must be.
It's very much like small decisions you wish you could go back and do over to avoid the disaster that happened after. Interesting story

Una interesante experiencia, zeleiracordero, estaré pendiente para leer la continuación, en letras de @aduragbemi.
¡FELIZ NAVIDAD!

Gracias por tu apreciación, @mllg. ¡Feliz Navidad!

This is beautiful!

Sorry it took long to come up with something.

The important thing is that you managed to create a fantastic sequel. I loved it!
