The traditional base is wheat berries, poppy seeds, and honey.
I used dried cranberries, dried figs, and walnuts as the nut and fruit additions.
Along with uzvar compote, it is a traditional Ukrainian Christmas Eve dish.
It can be found at Ukrainian funerals as well.
Other Eastern European countries have their similar versions.
