Today, to continue my cooking blog series, I will be preparing the famous “Filipino Style Fried Spicy Sardines with Egg” or “Sardinas na may Itlog” in native tongue. This food is famous and most commonly prepared and eaten by students who have delayed allowances. Hehe!
Filipino Style Fried Spicy Sardines with Egg or most commonly known as “Sardinas na may Itlog” is one of the most common, one of the cheapest and simplest to prepare yet one of the delicious dishes in Philippine cuisine. Majority of the families in the Philippines have financial problem and they would tend to settle for cheap foods for their family and this dish is one of their primary choice.
The dish will require you canned sardines, fresh eggs, garlic, onions, spring onion (optional) and salt. The cost of this dish would range from 25-30 pesos only depending on your ingredients and the amount of your preferred sardines and eggs.
Again the amount of those spices and seasonings may vary depending on your taste as long as those primary ingredients are present then you’re good to go!
Our Ingredients Involves:
Canned Sardines
Fresh Eggs
Garlic
Onions
Spring Onions (Optional)
Salt
For the Procedure
Beat the eggs then add salt and spring onions until blended. Wash then slice the spices accordingly
Saute spices in no particular order.
Add the canned sardines, saute for 5-10 minutes
Pour the scrambled egg and mix it well with the sauteed sardines.
Fry for 5-10 minutes or until it becomes partially dry. Then voila, our dish is ready!
