Gourmet Food Night - Jalapeno stuffed prawns with cherry cola barbeque sauce

My wife is an excellent cook, there’s no doubt about it. She is a native of the Philippines and she’s certainly picked up some skills from somewhere. I know this because every year she cooks for the local church fundraising event. Now I’m not a religious man but I always go along to support her, besides the hosts eat for free!

I have found however I always eat her food, and nobody else’s. Let me explain, ‘Food night’ consists of around 30 stalls and is hosted by church attendees, they cook a selection of food from all parts of the world. The churchgoers donate their time but are compensated for the ingredients required to cook the food. At 7pm there’s a queue of people waiting to come into the hall and sample the dishes. There is an entrance fee so the church raises some cash, the people snack on the food and everyone’s happy.

Her stall tends to be empty after 20 minutes, everything is gone! I think she secretly likes the attention and the ‘fame’ she is getting. Well that’s fine by me!

So today she informed me she’s going to make some prawns, and I have to help!

I ended up cutting up the garlic and onions while drinking some nice Belgian beer she had bought earlier.

This is really good I’m thinking. I then looked at the label, 8.4%.. wow!

So in my inebriated state I’m now writing this story, hic.

As far as the food went, it was astonishingly tasty, I just wish she would cook more often! Here's The finished product complete with dipping sauce.
