No matter how one chooses to interpret this, what counts is the consequence to the company. Who wins the racist vs not-racist argument is of little significance to those concerned, we live in an era where things can easily get out of hand and it's safer not to be on the receiving end trying to do damage control and issuing apologies at the end of the day.
