The summer period is relatively long and harsh in most parts of India. In such a situation, people try to keep the atmosphere of their house as cool as possible. Air conditioners are generally used to keep the house cool in summers, but due to rising electricity rates, this option proves to be costly. However, some natural remedies can be adopted to keep the house cool.
Use of ice:-
In rooms which are not very large, using ice can be easily cooled. It requires a fan, a metal bowl and ice... three things. When a large metal bowl is filled with ice and a fan is blown over it, cold air is released which spreads throughout the room and cools. With the help of this technique, the temperature of the room can be kept two to three degrees lower than outside.
Cross Ventilation:-
Coolness can be maintained in the home environment by maintaining air circulation through cross ventilation in the house. For this, the cross ventilation system can be maintained by keeping the front windows open. The best time to open these windows in summer is from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Proximity to nature:-
By maintaining closeness with nature in the decoration of the house, coolness can be maintained in the atmosphere of the house. If you want to keep the temperature of the house cool, then plant small plants and vines in the decoration of the house. This plant will prevent the entry of direct sunlight into the house and at the same time will help in maintaining coolness by purifying the air in the house. You can put a balcony grill and a well on the stairs.
Remove extra baggage: If the room is overcrowded, the room temperature will automatically rise. If you want to keep the room cool, remove excess furniture from the room. This will definitely help in keeping the house cool.
