A Short Introduction To Fair Use

in copyrights •  7 years ago

Due to the various copyright infrigements, everywhere I mean, not only here at Steemit, decided to post this video about Fair Use, a concept which applies to almost anyone in a creative space.

Fair use, as defined by the Stanford Copyright and Fair Use Website:

Any copying of copyrighted material done for a limited and 'transformative' purpose, such as to comment upon, criticize, or parody a copyrighted work.
Such uses can be done without permission from the copyright owner. In other words, fair use is a defense against a claim of copyright infringement. If your use qualifies as a fair use, then it would not be considered an infringement.

Author of the video is filmmaker Kirby Fergusson, most known for his series Everything is a remix.

Thank you for the comment. Yes, I agree, this question is important and every author should care about it.
