Almost a day has passed without any rumors or leaks regarding the upcoming Intel Comet Lake-S desktop processors. This time, the flagship of the next generation - Core i9-10900K - was again found in the 3DMark Fire Strike benchmark database. The find noted a network source with the alias _rogame .
First, recall that the Core i9-10900K processor has ten cores and can execute twenty threads. According to the source, the base clock frequency of the new product will be 3.7 GHz, while the turbofrequency is 5.1 GHz. Previous leaks indicated that all the cores of this processor could simultaneously accelerate up to 4.9 GHz, and one up to 5.3 GHz. In both cases, this will be possible due to Thermal Velocity Boost technology.
The processor was tested on the ASRock Z490M Pro4 motherboard in the company of two 8 GB DDR4 memory modules with a frequency of 3200 MHz. The performance of the Core i9-10900K processor, measured in physics calculations, was estimated at 28,940 points. Some time ago, in the same test, the new flagship Intel “lit up” with a 64 GB DDR4-2666 memory and scored then 28 988 points.
In general, in terms of performance in 3DMark Fire Strike, the new 10-core Intel flagship is comparable to the 12-core AMD Ryzen 9 3900X processor. The latter, according to the source, is gaining about 30,000 points. Of course, it is impossible to evaluate the performance of the new Core i9-10900K only by this test, and even the benchmark performance in games has only an indirect relation. But nevertheless, it gives some idea of what can be expected from the new Intel.
