Aloha!
Not too longer ago we had Halloween celebration with decorations of pumpkins, scarecrows, and corn husks. I never understand Halloween nor really care for it’s significant.
However, as Halloween came to an end, I was challenged by dried up husk of corns. I like corns. I especially like corns in decorations. It’s one of those multi-colored corns that I find interestingly beautiful.
So, yes, I took some home from work to decorate....to decorate..., hmmm, to decorate....., let’s leave it in that brown bag. What the heck to do with 9 dried up corns attached to dried up husks. Seriously, this sounds really stupid.
Wait! Wait! I have an idea!!! Seriously, I’ve never done it before but I think a once upon dried corns can be awaken!!!! Yes, let’s do it!!
So, here’s my experiment. It took several hours but I was utterly surprised! In a good way. Without further due, lets begin our dried corns journey...
All corns are placed in a pot on low heat with little water....
About an hour later the corns began to expand and stretch. Doesn’t that looks beautiful?!!
About 2 hours later, the same amount of corns in pot had expanded so much that a lid can’t cover anymore.
Ok, so after several hours of slow cooking, the corns are edible!!!! How crazy! Uh hmm, ok, how expectedly. I tried it and it tasted just like an el-dente corns on the cob. Interesting.
So, based on my observation, dried out unwanted corns from Halloween can be edible! It takes much longer to cook, is all.
So, I would like to know if you have ever cook dried corns before. If so, do you have a better method to prepare it?
And as always, thank you for stopping by and until we meet again, have a wonderful day.
Aloha!
