What did the government do? Oh, They sacked Raghuram Rajan off his office and spread-ed propaganda villanizing him. And even before that Nirav Modi and his good friends took money in billions and escaped prosecution. Punjab National Bank, it's executives did same, many people died and the rest forgot. Vijay Mallya, government still unable to get him back to prosecute for financial crimes he committed in India.
Looks like significance of personal favors are still up on demand rather than transparent good governing. This is what "propaganda" and "personality cult" looks like, folks.
