I don't usually link to long articles, but this one is special. The charts are informative as heck (you probably should open them in a new tab for best usage), and the writing is exceptionally clear. Even if you have to read it in pieces I really ask that you at least eventually "read it all".
Basically the author "summarizes" (it's pretty long) a whole lot of what I've been saying/thinking about the actual data and what it means. He also includes some good stuff that I've been using but not posting for fear of 1) going on too long, and 2) getting people confused needlessly. His writing is truly excellent for "ordinary readers".
He also includes a lot of useful/interesting links. I will also link to a Twitter account (GummiBear) that I also find to be very useful/interesting.
Meanwhile, too many of our governors (especially mine, Gov Whitmer) wouldn't know the difference between a t-statistic and a golf tee. Too few polices are or have been based on actual data.
Fundamentally though, the lockdowns don't seem (in the data) to have affected the course of the epidemic while devastating the economy. I am assuming the guilty will get off scot-free as always.
Right... A few writers write short posts but in their post have great knowledge.
I like it.
