What a beautiful ode to Kali. I could feel her presence in the words you wrote, sincerely.
At the start of this year, Kali appeared in my life in many forms, revealing her nature to me and sowing a seed of interest in her abundant ways in my heart. Upon surrendering to her and allowing her to seep into my life, I discovered that she has been with me all along, pushing me to the edge and then pulling me right back in order to set me free. What a ride it has been!
I write poetry, and amid all of these revelations, she also found her way into my writing and played a role in my artistic rebirth; she freed me from writer's block, aiding in an inner transformation which in turn pushed my art in a different yet familiar direction.
Here is one of these poems she infiltrated, most of which aren't on Steemit.
"kali, what a scene.
could this be the end of things, or can we intervene
with this mass hysteria and steer the ship ashore?
how are we to tolerate a state behind a war?
it's a war, there is no doubt, but who's the enemy i'm asking.
cover-up the spillage of the blood and continue the masking
of the nation. the duration of this isolation period is unknown, period.
it's the end of all discussion."
After mingling with the idea of death for a while, many thoughts came to me, some of them being this:
'though silence is the ideal form of communication between mute hearts, more often than not, verbal vibrations manage to seep through the backdoors of our understanding, mitigating the divine and uplifting the veil of illusion; to hold on to any given conclusion is to fall victim to a grievous act deprived of solidarity with the supreme.
by the absorption of the ongoing fragility of the unity of the all, the individual dies, leaving behind a debris of matter, similar to that of a snake shedding its skin. it is death that bridges life with eternity; it is the missing link denied by many."
As you mentioned, Kali is riddled with complexity, which is evident in just about anything she is a part of. I strongly believe that one's own personal experiences with Kali are what bring one's soul the closest to her.
This is a brief summary of my encounter with this beautiful goddess.
Thank you so much for sharing this article with us all on here.
It is great to have stumbled upon Kali on Steemit.
Cheers.
Luka.
Oh, this is such a great comment! She is mother of all, isn't she - once you meet her you can't help but see her as central to all things. Your poetry is amazing! I have written some notes to make a poem later on.
Funny, I was watching Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom over Easter, which was the worst of them, but it occurred to me why I thought Kali was a bit scary as I would have been quite young when I watched it. They really culturally insensitive there, using the frightening 'other' as a antagonist - praying to Kali Ma in a really demonic way. It struck me that my child self was scared of Kali for this reason! I love how different tribes and peoples have seen her differently over history, and how she's been adopted by woman particularly as a source of power and strength - I'm so excited to embrace her and feel all those other goddesses pale in insignificance to her.

Total truth! She truly is central to all things. Without her the wheel of life wouldn't spin the same, perhaps it wouldn't even spin at all.
Although I am not familiar with the Indiana Jones movies, from what I gather, demonising Kali is common and adds to a lot of false truths being passed on about her. Objectivity is vital when speaking on her, one which inspires and drives one to have a personal encounter with her. Only then can one truly grasp her and her ways. Perhaps, and this is solely coming from my understanding, when one sees Kali in a so-called negative light, portrayed demonically and what not, she laughs behind the scenes, revealing herself in ways unfathomable to us, either seducing our interest and luring us in, or pushing us away completely, at least for the time being. It truly does take time and effort to work with Kali, but it's a ride worth taking.
She is undoubtably a source of immense strength and power in women all over the globe. Women who encounter her and let her work through them are walking embodiments of her true nature which is change. And as we all can clearly see and feel, the world needs change. It is time for women to step in, hand-in-hand with Kali, shining a brand new light onto the world.
Embrace her!
Luka.
