The famous sign of Covering is that it covers the earth (leaves, rain or snow). According to legends and legends, the Zaporizhzhia Cossacks went to winter for their villages and winter horses.

Prior to Pokrov, the period of marriage and preparation for weddings, which began after the First Pure. Until the beginning of October, all the most important rural work on the ground ends (including winter sowing) - the harvesting cycle of works is completed. The collected crop (abundance) and more or less free time make it possible for weddings. This is the most gracious time for the wedding festivities, the beginning of the evening evenings. Hence the wedding autumn weeks in Ukraine.

Since 1999, the celebration of Protection in Ukraine is celebrated as the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks.

On February 21, 2015, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko initiated the establishment of the Day of Defender of Ukraine, which is celebrated on October 14, the public holiday. 

So, taking advantage of the opportunity, I want to congratulate all men on the holiday.

Всім привіт.  

Сьогодні я трошки відійду від футбольної тематики і розкажу Вам про сьогоднішнє чудове свято.  Свято – Покрови. 

Відомою ознакою Покрови є те, що вона покриває землю (листям, дощем або снігом).  Згідно з переказами та легендами саме на Покрову запорізькі козаки вирушали на зимівлю по своїх хуторах та зимівниках. 

До Покрови завершувався період сватань і приготування до весіль, який починався після Першої Пречистої. До початку жовтня закінчуються усі найважливіші сільські роботи на землі (в тому числі сівба озимих) — завершено хліборобський цикл робіт. Зібраний урожай (достаток) та більш-менш вільний час дають можливість для проведення весіль. Це найблагодатніша пора для весільних гулянь, початку вечорниць. Звідси беруть свій початок весільні осінні тижні на Україні.  

Існувала навіть прикмета: якщо на Покрову сніг — буде багато весіль.

З 1999 року свято Покрови в Україні відзначається як День українського козацтва.  

21 лютого 2015 року Президент України Петро Порошенко ініціював встановлення Дня захисника України, який святкується на Покрову 14 жовтня, державним святом. 

Так, що користуючись можливістю, хочу привітати із святом всіх чоловіків.
